Sakic injured in snowblower accident

Seriously what is with athletes and dumb ass injuries.

Rose lays on a knife and needs 10 stitches, Sakic sticks his hand in a snowblower, what is next Ray Lewis sticks his foot under a lawn mower and loses 3 toes and can no longer do that stupid dance!

Seriously there are stickers all over those things that say do not put your hand in here when parts are moving!!!!

EDIT:

Slinky Linky Dinky DOOOOOO!

I hope so, I hate Ray Ray.

Sucks for Sakic, hope he heals up fast.

My question is why doesn't Sakic have a snow-removal service? If I had as much coin as him I most certainly wouldn't be snowblowing my own driveway. However, I'd probably get an ATV with a plow on the end just because it looks fun. My snowblower with warning signs all over it will have to do for now.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery, Joe.

I guess all those divealanche fans who were cheering when Lidstrom got hurt last year aren't cheering now. Serves those retards right.

Truth is that Sakic should have retired after last year's injury-ridden season. Hopefully, he'll retire after this year, and start a business where he can sell safer, more consumer-friendly snowmobiles.

Not your classiest post.

Anyway, I like Joe Sakic. Hopefully, he can get healthy and retire on a positive not (but not with our Cup) lol. He deserves to retire on his own terms at the very least.

I wasn't posting in order to sound classy.

With an incident like this, I can either not care, laugh, or feel sad. Since he plays for the team I hate, I'm not going to be sad about it, nor am I not going to pretend that I do not care.

So what does that leave me with? You guessed it, laughter.

That is a shame. Of all of the low-life piece-of-trash, scum-sucking, pig-copulators that have gone through the Colorado Avacramps system, he seemed like a classy, hard-working guy...

too bad it couldn't have happened to Forskin, Roy, Lemieux, Crawford, etc., etc., etc., etc.

Funny story.. shortly after I met my (now) husband's family.... his dad tried to unclog his snowblower while it was on and severed off the top knuckle of his middle finger.

Wonder if similar thing happened to Sakic? Not that the injury is funny mind you, but it tickles close to home so I can't help but giggle a LITTLE at it :P

Living where I do, snowblowers aren't a part of my daily life throughout winter, but if I am an athlete under contract making millions, somebody is getting paid to do this type of work for me!

Thats really a shame though for Joe to have this happen. I really couldn't wish an injury like that on anyone.

There's just something inherently entertaining and amusing about those kinds of freak injuries that don't impact someone's long-term athletic career. (And I say this as a person who once found themself in a position of having to explain to their college coach that I managed to sprain my wrist while turning the key to start my car) Though this one isn't quite up there with the baseball player who ended up on the DL after he was attacked by an automatic tarp-spreading machine at the ballpark.
