I've been saying this for the past 5 months. How has anyone even tried to turn it around on me? Am I not on this site enough...and I mean it? The Shakrs have that intangible that is not only coaching but experience on the blue line.

The Wings have it too, but ironically the results are much different. At any rate, I wasn't referring to anything you said regarding the Sharks, and I aplogize for grouping you with those who said there isn't a problem with this teams desire.

Losing McClellan is not the issue with this team. It's hunger and work ethics and, not to mention, it seems like we always have players out injured' Cleary, Holmstrom, Franzen, Chelios and etc... Which makes it inconsistent for this team to get going.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Dats and Hossa aren't nursing a nagging injury.

Anyone else kind of upset that we lost McClellan? As a die-hard Wings fan who never gives up on his time, I'm getting this weird feeling about the Sharks. They definately seem to have stolen our mojo. It's basically last years team with different players. We do have a great winning record, but I feel sort of like we're getting laughed at by the rest of the league, if that makes any sense.

I did read in the Freepress yesterday that Pavel has a sore ankle and Hossa has a sore groin. That said, both looked good today, so I am not too worried about that.

NHL.com jumped the gun big time on this game tonight. I got a text during the SO stating that Phoenix beat Detroit 4-3 in regulation >.> then 15 minutes later after the shootout, I get another stating we won 5-4.

At least I had faith we'd push OT. I'm SO glad I was able to see this game. I signed up for post-game text messages for the few games I have to miss out of the season. If I'd have been out and got that, then got home and saw a different score I'd be FURIOUS. (But then happy that we actually pulled out the W )

Then there is all this talk about SJ (they are good though) but is every team they face really playing there best, NO

NHL is a long season (82 games) and detroit will be defending the cup the entire season but will be in the playoffs.

So stop crying about how we don't work hard, we need to get rid of this player and that, our sticks are weak, and how you can run the top notch Detroit organization so much better.

oh and for the record hudler and his same leg kick fake that he uses every time in the shootout is not pretty but thank god it worked tonight

The bottom line is we are a Dynasty with a top contending team that is winning games, Enjoy the team that we have and trust the system and the orginization that runs it.

If not, go be a cry baby Ducks fan or something.

@yankeebaddabbing in addition to your post I can add a comment from Hossa who admires how nobody is panicking in Detriot bench in crucial situations.

Everyone throws "A" game vs Red Wings but champs respond usually with "C" game and still win. Opponents feel very humiliated, thats for sure.

Because last season, game in and game out, night after night, we brought our A game - 60 minutes of effort, a ferocious forecheck, tireless backchecking, suffocating defense and rock-solid goaltending. How many times this season have we brought our A game from last year? Anaheim? Uh, and that's about it? Anyone other ones? Bueller?

I see you fail to mention our atrocious goals-against this season in your post. Until that is fixed we ain't winning jack in the playoffs.

I was at the game tonight and the legions of Wings fans were in full force. Just walking to the arena before the game there were "LET'S GO RED WINGS" chants booming across the parking lot. Inside it was just an ocean of red and white jerseys. Here's a crappy pic I took with my phone to show how many Wings ambassadors come to the games out here. All of the white and red in the pic are Wings jerseys and shirts. All those maroon spots are just empty seats!

We don't call it "Joe Louis West" for nothing!

I can't wait for the next game out here on January 20th. Go Wings!

Ahhh, finally somebody's buttons got pushed, Yeah i see babcock mixing up the lines so we have chemistry when someone goes down and experimenting with different lines, also who said we had rock-solid goaltending ever- not me

my opinion on goaltending would really stir the pot round here

So my fellow fair weather poster get your hopes down and go to another sport that you understand a little better
