CT, it wasn't up to the ref.

This is clearly a conspiracy to give Crosby the goal. Set up by the hockey iron triangle of Toronto, the media, and all the Crosby fans out there.

Or you can switch out fans with the refs. They're all in it.

So I took screencaps of the shoddy NHL.com highlights at full screen with 2 of the best images I could find (maybe if someone finds a higher quality version will post it):

From the looks of it, you cannot tell at all the location of where the puck hits the stick compared to the crossbar, not even ruling out a glove or something else hitting it.. so unless it can be proven the ruling on the ice should stand, and those going nuts over Crosby should try switching to a better cologne than Crosby obsession for men.

That stick certainly looks above the crossbar where it's contacting the puck. Unfortunately the screen cap is such low res that I can't be sure; but based on those two images it's no goal.

I watched the game over here live and after seeing various replays the puck did seem to

hit the lower part of the stick shaft, which was in line or just below the crossbar. Sid's hand

and upper part of his stick were above the crossbar level as he stated. Anyway poor old Sid

hadn't scored for 9 games so was due some luck!!

Hopefully some way they get better camera angles in the future

that's the problem when they changed the ruling on high sticks. It used to be above the shoulders, the downside being that it wasn't standard and varied on the height of the player, which doesn't make a lot of sense. But it had the big advantage that the shoulders were always very close to the stick and puck and made for a lot clearer calls when ruling on goals.

Exactly.

BUT OMG It was cindy crosby!! it's a leaugue conspiracy by Bettman for his golden boy!!!!

So I guess there's a conspiracy to promote Beuchemin as well??

The Crosby goal wasn't that clear. Unless it's a ridiculously hight stick, these days in the new NHL, they're gonna count the goal.

EDIT: and even if the call was blown, it had nothing to do with Crosby. seriously. break out the tin foil hats.

Taking another look at it, it does seem closer then I originally thought.....though, I still think its above the cross bar line.

And also, I would have started this thread whether Crosby was the goal scorer or not. People here who are getting upset because I was trying to start another "Crosby hate" thread are wrong, my intention was solely to highlight the continuing impotence of the NHL.

Lol. And here we are with just another Crosby thread based on a conclusion you have admitted you were incorrect on.

Actually I could point out quite a few that I have ignored, CT. You're just beginning to sound like a child now.

Close play and it could have gone either way, but I guess the ruling on the ice stood 'cause the video replay was inconclusive?

Looks like the stick is below his shoulders and just in line with the crossbar. But yeah, I think we have all seen those go both ways.

Its becoming apparent to me that you spend the majority of your time perusing YouTube looking for Penguins/Crosby highlights. You should take this stuff over to the Pens board - you'll get more of a reaction. Like I said in your Crosby thread from earlier, its getting tiring over here.

its posters like you who escalated it to a crosby thread, not the OP

Anyone else catch the end of this one? Crosby deflected a goal OBVIOUSLY with his stick above the cross bar, and they called it a good goal. Bettman must have called immediately to make sure the goal counted for his little boy scout. I'm pissed off and I'm not even a Buffalo fan.

Seeing that it WAS Crosby who happened to be the one who deflected the goal, ofcourse I'm gonna take the opportunity to make a Bettman/Crosby love comment. This doesn't mean that I intended this to be a Crosby hate thread and I STILL would have made the thread regardless of who it was that deflected the goal. When I originally saw the game on TV, the play looked like it was an obvious no goal, and I got upset enough to vent on the boards. Since everyone is crying, whining, and basically just flipping out and accusing each other of this and that, JUST CLOSE THE DAMN THREAD.
