Hossa and Datsyuk are always trying impossible passes to eachother, and Hossa is missing a lot of shots. Much prefered if Datysuk shoots more. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

His current line doesn't have a natural playmaker like Dats, so that will obviously affect them on the offensive end. Defensively I haven't noticed any problems ... Guest DetroitBoy313 Report post Posted December 27, 2008 I know we've gone through this a million times on this board and this has been discussed with every Wings fan out there but our team was dominated physically last night.It makes me wonder if this team is too soft this year,the presence of Dallas Drake made a difference last year.It also makes me start to wonder if there just is too much talent on this team this year with the addition of Hossa,as crazy as it sounds it may be true.They say too much of anything is never a good thing,maybe there are ego issues in the locker room we don't know about.Whatever it is Zetterberg hasn't been doing much lately and it's starting to be a little scary. In all seriousness, he's currently averaging just a shade under a point per game. That is still pretty darn impressive if you ask me. Dats is the player that makes who ever he plays with look really good just imaginn if crosby or Alex O had dats as a line mate it would be f***en sick..... Datsyuk had moments as well where Zetterberg made him look good as well. Both had their fair share of moments helping each other out on the same line. He is trying to do all the work, bring the puck into the zone, and etc. Seems like his wingers are not helping him too much with getting open or making space for him. Thats something i dont understand either. Why leave Zetterberg out when hes our future? You can tell hes somewhat frustrated with his line mates. Dats and Zet are the ones that are going to be playing together next year they should be with each other now further building chemistry. It just doesnt make sense unless Babs wants to keep these two split up next year. Franzen isnt all that like some of you guys think. Franzen is never going to be a star player, yeah he can shoot the puck but thats the only thing that really stands out. Yeah ive seen him explode a couple times and puck handle threw a few defensemen but what NHL player isnt capable of pulling that off if the conditions are right. Also don't forget the pace Zetterberg was starting to role on at the end of last year. I really think if Z was on Dats line from the start of the year like Hossa he would be burying Hossas points away and Dats would have more himself. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I thought Hossa with Franzen works pretty good, put Filppula or Hudler with those two and get DZH back together. Or leave things the way they are, Z will heat up eventualy. So, you aren't impressed with big, blazing fast two-way forwards with a howitzer for a shot? Wow. He's averaging a point a game and is on pace for 40+ goals. I don't think he is the problem. As far as Zetterberg, I agree that he just isn't meshing with his wingers and is trying to do too much. I like the idea of a Hudler/Z/Cleary line as Eva suggested earlier.
