We all know that "Mastadonic Glove Grab" will live on forever in the Commentary Hall of Fame, but have you all heard any other questionable remarks that can be placed any where near "Glove grab's" level? GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted January 22, 2009 Not a hockey one but I remember back in 2002. After the US beat Portugal (nobody in the world expected it) in there first game of World Cup 02 I remember the announcer saying something along the lines of "Thyne eyes have see thy glory". No doubt trying to have his own "Do you beleive in miracles?" like call but epically failing. It was so bad that even with all the celebration every that was over stopped trying to understand if he really indeed say that.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted January 22, 2009 Any number of the hilarious calls that are made during/after Datsyuk undresses some poor skater/goalie.

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted January 22, 2009 This doesn't quiote fit within the criteria, but you guys remember when Jim Hughson had thatr humorous partner in the EA NHL games?: I can't remember his name right now, but he had also done the play by play in NHL Rock the Rink for PSX. That was always some great commentary/description just becsuase it was so off the wall. When they stopeped including him in the EA games, it was a sad, sad day indeed. I believe the guy you're talking about is the same guy in the video, it depends on how far back in EA history we're talking: Darryl Reaugh, who is the color guy for FS Dallas. He was on NHL '98 with Jim Hughson, but since that was the only one I got I don't know how much longer he lasted.

Starting in 2003 they had Don Taylor, but that couldn't be who you were thinking of because (no matter how hard he tried) nothing he ever said was even remotely funny. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted January 23, 2009 Razor comes up with stuff like this all the time. Multiple times in every game, in fact. I'm surprised so many people don't know about him. I guess it helps having Center Ice to watch Dallas Stars games, but he's been famous for his use of the English language for years. Buccigross has talked about it frequently in his ESPN column. Bah, I enjoyed Don Taylor. Thought he played off of Hughson really well. Whoever they got to replace him in the EA games was dullllllllllllll.
