That would enable the team to recall a couple of players from AHL affiliate Grand Rapids. "That might be something we do so we can have a look at (Jonathan) Ericsson, (Darren) Helm, (Ville) Leino, that group of guys,'' coach Mike Babcock said. "If we're going to use them at playoff time we need to get a look at them to see if they're NHL playoff-ready.'' They might opt to bring up enforcer Aaron Downey. seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 Oooh I like that quote. Bring up Leino, let's see what he can do. But this one ends 14 - 3. The Wings just don't lose 4 in row.
Icesurfer 75 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 I believe Ericsson has an injury so I hope we finally see Leino since Z is out. Do we really need an enforcer against Dallas?
DyingAlive 27 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 Is Ozzie really playing again? I guess it would be smart to save Conklin for the Caps.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 Is Ozzie really playing again? I guess it would be smart to save Conklin for the Caps. According to MLive, it's Ozzie due to his record against the Stars.
DyingAlive 27 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 According to MLive, it's Ozzie due to his record against the Stars. Gotcha, makes sense. Let's hope he comes up playing big against Turco. Is this the 3rd or 4th time we have played the stars?
kylee 727 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 the last game against the blue jackets was a bit disappointing, hopefully the Wings can come out and take it to a stars team that are sticking around the playoff hunt and have a real chance if they string some wins together. id expect to see them come out hard against the Wings. nonetheless, hopefully Turco continues to struggle between the ears when it comes to playing against the Wings. hmmm wonder who gets called up for the game? Guest Shoreline Report post Posted January 29, 2009 Hopefully the Wings take the Stars a bit more seriously than last time when collapsing in the clutch.
Louisville 112 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) Nice GDT, keep those up. I wish we could keep the Cleary - Filppula - Samuelsson line together. Last game they busted their asses out there and I'm surprised none of them registered a point. My only prediction as that one of those guys has a big game. Fisticuffs! YES!!! This is the first Red Wings Game (not counting a couple pre-season) that I have ever gone to. I've watched hundreds and hundreds on TV, but this is my first real game. I bought four tickets (including food) for $22 each, I've got my wife, dad, and bro-in-law going. This is going to ROCK!

Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted January 29, 2009 My only prediction for tonight is that Downey won't be much use, mainly because Ott is a coward and won't fight, and Downey isn't good for much other than that. As always when I make a prediction against the Wings or a Wings player, I hope I eat crow.
