Oh yeah, I forgot about the to proven cup winning goalies you just mentioned. They have what, 4 - 5 cups between the two of them?

Wait, Mason will make 1 million when he's 30ish? Be honest and use basic logic.

You're getting oversensitive and running into hyperbole that wasn't even in the topic at hand. You stated that goalies making 1.5M aren't expected to win the Vezina. Fact is, there are some that are - namely Mason and Lundqvist. And the fact that they are or were making less than 1M because they are on rookie contracts is actually a testament to their play, not in opposition of it. Who expects rookie goaltenders to win the Vezina?

Can't defend Osgood anymore, sorry.

Whether we win or lose this one it was epic fail, WE ARE PLAYING THE AVS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! THE BOTTOM FEEDERS OF THE WEST!

Ozzies a great guy, but he's absolutely hopeless in net this year. I don't think I've seen rebound control as bad as his pretty much ever.

*a* deflection or *that* deflection with the same sluggish defense as Detroit has as of late?

Let me guess, Mason would have had it...

The chances that Mason would've had it versus Osgood are considerable, yes. And if all these goals are the defenses fault, whats the point of employing a goaltender? What you're suggesting is that the Wings defense should be stopping the goals, not Osgood. That doesn't exactly flow with your logic - I guess we should just bench Osgood or buy him out, because clearly our defense is the one that should be stopping the goals.

I just don't understand how anyone can think this team is the favorite to win the Stanley Cup. This has got to be the worst defensive Wings team since the 80's. I mean really. There hasn't been one game this season, ONE GAME, that I felt the Wings just dominated at every end of ice the whole game, when last year they did it practically every night.
