All jokes aside, I think most of us can admit that Crosby is definitely one of the best players in the league but I'm sure there's a reason why most people like AO more and bash on Crosby much more. Not just us Wings fans or us here on LGW, I've seen Crosby bashing from fans of every other team out there. I'm sure we all have our own reasons. I'm also sure we'd love him just as much as any pens fan if he were playing for our favorite team but I guess something about him makes him easier to hate for everyone else.

We all have rights to our own opinions. Doesn't mean you have to be rude about it when people don't have the same as yours. If it's THAT bad for you then maybe you shouldn't have clicked on the thread when you read the title. It's cool that you like to read intellectual threads. I do too, but I also like to have a good laugh at times. If you don't find Crosby bashing to be amusing then it's your loss.

HAHA. Oh yes, the infamous "rag-doll" episode. If memory serves, that was a heated game and right before that face off there was another fight. According to post game interviews Crosby said he asked McClean to go, thought he heard him so "ok". McClean says he heard Crosby say something but wasn't sure what he said.

So essentially you believe who you believe. I find it odd that if Crosby fully intended to attack an unsuspecting McClean, he might have actually tried to throw at least 1 ******* punch seeing as he had McClean completed dominated. Did he do that, no, he looked like a guy ragdolling another guy. Ooohhhh, so vicious.

I get that people don't like Crosby, I never asked anybody to like him.

But the level of idiocy that stems from that hate is absurd. You saw the AO/Sid clip. Where exactly did either of those players really do anything noteworthy in that skirmish? It was nothing but 2 guys shoving each other. And yet we get all this Crosby cheap shot artist talk. And people aren't referring to past incidents. They were referring to this video clip. So tell me, where's the cheap shot? What exactly did Crosby do other than shove back at a guy who just shoved him?

In your infinite hockey wisdom, what should Crosby do? He takes more contact than any player in the league. If he doesn't show any emotion, doesn't shove back, he gets called a ***** around here. If he does anything remotely aggressive, he's a cheapshot artist.

Substitute Crosby in that situation for Zetterberg or Hudler or Datsyuk and everybody here is creaming in their collective drawers about how our guys are so tough and sticking up for themselves and blah, blah..

the problem is that not only do us fans dislike him but the players do as well. and they say the same stuff that we as fans say. he crys to much to the refs...he does in fact cheap shot...he dives.....and the worse part he gets shoved down our throats as the face of the nhl when in fact it should be AO. yeah its fine to show emotion but the stuff that we have seen from him you can;t turn a blind eye to GST. and yeah alot of what stuff people say is just bogus and stupid but a lot of it is true and warranted about him. oh and we are hockey fans on a hockey forum talking hockey...if you don't like to talk crosby then stop replying in threads that are talking about him.

This isn't Rimouski in the "Q" anymore, son. Soon, somebody is going to show you that trying to be a star and an "enforcer" is not a good a good combination. And, we've already seen your "fighting" abilities. Yesterday's loss puts you 1 game closer to not making the playoffs, a reality that seems to be setting in.

I'm laughing out loud at your insinuation that the NHL is somehow tougher than the Q. The Q, when Crosby was playing in it, was a much tougher league than the NHL is today. If nobody went out of their way to teach him a lesson, it's a safe bet that nobody will in the NHL either.

GS&T, there was no Crosby bashing at all in this thread until you came in and started whining about all the Crosby hate.

All of the posts were about how cool it was that they are not liking each other, which is going to help the rivalry, and how if they actually fought, Sid would get his ass handed to him. I didn't see any bashing at all.

I'm tired of the Crosby bashing too, which is why I avoid the threads that are obviously for that. I don't like the kid, but I don't go out of my way to post about him. I did in this thread, because I think those two being rivals really ups the excitement level.

Having said that... of course Crosby is buckling. He's the face of the NHL. His team fell short in the SCF last season. Him and Malkin are currently 1 and 2 in scoring and they probably aren't going to make the playoffs.

You are correct. In surfing through various boards, it seems that the dislike for Crosby from a fan's perspective is increasing. I've even read some negative comments from Pens fans about his whining and his on-ice decisions. Now we get an article in SI discussing how he needs to step up. The media overexposing this guy has turned him into one of the more disliked players out there. It seems that people either love him or hate him, there's not much of an in-between. Either way, it works out well for the league. People that love him will watch his games and those that hate him will watch the game to see him lose (like I did yesterday). It looks like the league marketing people accidentally did something intelligent with their marketing of this guy? It's kinda like the WWE in that they have good guys and bad guys. People watch to see the bad guys lose.
