TheBigRedMachine 2 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 If the Wings EVER allowed Pronger anywhere near the Red Wings organization without him being an opponent, I would: 1.) Purchase a Red Wings Pronger jersey. 2.) Pour Worcestshire sauce on it. 3.) Cut it up into small, easily chewed pieces. 4.) Eat it. 5.) Wait with patience as it passes through my digestive system. 6.) And finally, deposit it in the toilet where Pronger belongs.
sixer 37 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Id rather have herpes, less shame in having herpes than having Pronger on your team...he is just garbage I can get 10 more like that...hes not what we need. I'll take an STD as well before we take that bum. Might as well get Avery too!

swedishconnection 36 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 This reminds me of the Bertuzzi aquisition. Anyone remeber that? He left our organization without batting an eye because he didnt fit in with the (more or less) classy, non dirty, puck possession style. Certain players are designed both physically and mentally for a style of hockey, and Bert's was clearly not for the wings. Backchecking? Who has time for that? Dont get me wrong, Bertuzzi had his upside. Grinding it out in the corners and crashing the crease were his strong suits. But he did not have the dicipline to play consistently on our team. Certain teams have that style that fits those players. Bertuzzi is right at home in my book. Pronger is home where he is at (or Calgary, or Boston, or *Philly*<<--- this is currently being rumored on the Ducks boards). If he (Pronger) came to the wings, he would most certainly complain that we dont play his style. He would be calling for more physicality, blah blah blah. We all know that certain players idea of physicality goes beyond shoulder to shoulder or shoulder to chest or fist to face. Pronger's idea of physicality includes his elbows (please see 2007 WCF, Homer), knees (for further reference, see Stevie-Y, St. Louis, WC Semis), and as noted above in this thread via video, Shoulder to face (Pavel earlier this year). This guy is hated for more reasons than his skill, which is undenyable. In short, F*** NO.
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 well with all these response it seems that the overwhelming answer to my question is: Us Wings fans would welcome him with open arms

donfishmaster 62 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Prick-pronger, Claude LePuke, and Patty Roy (rhymes with 'boy') are the three players that would cause me to reconsider my life-long loyalty to the Winged Wheel. Please cease all idiocy immediately...
elevenandcounting 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 i do not want to see a winged wheel on his chest. he's a ****** and anybody who wants him playing for detroit is a ****** as well. i hated the idea of kenny going after forsberg past two years and this would be even worse. we wasted a good pick on that ass hole bertuzzi. there are just some guys in the league i wouldn't want playing for wings no matter what. Earthhuman 8 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 The Red Wings are easy to like because they're professional and rarely embarrasing. I like seeing them on the front of NHL.com for wins rather than suspensions.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 He's far from a favorite of mine but if there was any chance of Pronger being on Detroit, I'd put my remorse for him aside as best I can, it's all about the team first, not individuals. Being that this is slim/none of happening though, it's nothing to worry about.

Guest micah Report post Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) Exactly when and how was Shanny a dirty player? Who said anything about dirty players? The poster I responded to said that the Wings were a "classy" organisation. Classy guys do not bone their teamate's wives, and teams concerned with being "clasy" do not hire players who have a history of boning their teammates wives. It's hockey. a lot of players who play on the edge and through an elbow here and there might really still be good men. Maybe Gordie Howe, Chris Pronger et al are good men. Good men do not sleep with their firend's or teammates' spouses. Edited February 27, 2009 by micah
MidMichSteve 1,115 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 I have a cat with an intestinal problem I would probably be willing to let go. I'd keep the cat and I'm a dog person. How many teams has that prick played for? He has zero loyalty. Besides, there is no one in the NHL that I despise more then that cheap-shot bastard.
Lovin Jiri Fischer 147 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 As other people have said, I'm pretty sure that Chelios was on that list as well. When did Chelios ever stomp on a guy's leg with his skate while he was down? And PS I love the quote in your sig. Ronald Reagan is one of my heroes.
Guest micah Report post Posted February 27, 2009 When did Chelios ever stomp on a guy's leg with his skate while he was down? He didn't, that I recall. I only remember him slashing toughguys would he didn't have the sack to fight like a man, I remember him BITING Sandstrom in a fight, and I remember him cheapshotting skilled players (like Yzerman, for instance) with elbows to the head and checks from behind.
