2/28 GDT: Red Wings 0 at Predators 8

I said after the game against the Kings; "if the Wings would have played like this against a decent opponent they would have been destroyed"...

Didn't know I was going to be proven correct the next day.

That said, have we all forgotten that the Wings played perhaps their best game of the season just a few days ago against the Sharks? I would say that game is more representative of what this team can do and probably will do once the playoffs start than this game is.

This was a dark day in Red Wings history, but in the end it doesn't mean anything. It showcased some of the problems the Wings have been having this season, but it was also at the end of a really tough month in terms of scheduling, in the 2nd game of a back-to-back and against an opponent who is fighting for a playoff spot.

Take a couple of deep breaths and calm down everyone. It hurts like hell, but imagine this is what many teams in the league experience on an almost weekly basis.

Alright guys. While the the effort to keep the mood lighthearted after that is appreciated, let's steer clear of the Sex/Tampon/Condom references...

May as well get rid of 'em all. Or better yet, Preds for the Cup!

So if Holland still believes we dont need to make a deadline move, oooo.

Yeah, this might turn out to be a fortunate thing for us, as Holland will be under some more pressure to address the team's defensive (or maybe even goaltending as well) problems at the deadline. Don't think Ilitch isn't pissed about this embarrassing loss. I can't remember the last time the Wings lost this badly.... :ranting:

There isn't a goalie worth a s*** out there for what the Wings could pay in a trade for so just lose that idea...

Well, that was interesting, from Rinne's shutout, to Arnott's hat trick, to Pihlstrom and Koistenen breaking through, to Joel Ward's 3 game goal streak, and Shea Weber's Gordie Howe....lots to be thankful for tonight.

Since I've had the unfortunate labeling of a flamer, which is definitely not something I was after, I'll sign out here and let y'all take over. Before I resign, though, I'll say that Hossa better be glad he didn't tangle with Weber. Weber just took Lilja's ass and handed it to him

Peace out, y'all.

meh it sucks, but we deserved it, we got outplayed badly, we didn't win a race to a loose puck all night i think, our passing was horrible, we coouldn't get our stick on any rebounds no secondary shots, we were horrible in our own end with the breakouts, just an overall bad game. It seemed like everything that could go wrong did go wonrg for us and everything that could go right went well for them.

I'll give their defense credit, but their offense from what i saw was about 95% fluke, i can almost guarantee they didn't have any clue how 6 of those goals went in, just right place right time.

Either way we lost couldn't even get 1 goal, just pathetic, we were lethargic and just plain bad.

Good news is it is over and one with, we are still 2nd in the west and an asswhoopin like this should refocus the team....i wouldn't want to be st.louis on tuesday.

It is posts like these that show you are a flamer.

Go back to the Preds board. You can enjoy your e-high fives knowing you beat the Wings terribly in a ******* regular season game.

Be sure to let everyone here know how the Predators' golf scores are come April.

On a side note, major props to any player on our team who finished even on their +/-. That's like swimming through a cesspool and smelling like roses after wards.

First time this year the team got shut out. Ouch. (When was the last time... February 2008 against the Stars? My TV remote remembers that day well.)

Enjoy this, its likely the highest point in all of Nashville's illustrious history, even knocks mortgaging part of your future to sign Forsberg who still couldn't get you past the 1st round of the playoffs out of that coveted top spot.
