55fan 5,133 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 That was my plan for the last couple games while I've been moving and haven't had access to Centre Ice. Apart from, uh, Paul Woods' uh, tendency to uh, use the word uh, uh a lot, it's uh, a lot better than uh, nothing. Drives me nuts when he says something like "Henrik uh Zetterberg". There's times for the "uh" when you can't think of what comes next, but Henrik Zetterberg should roll right off the tongue.

He doesn't even stall for time with it, it's just a part of how he talks I think. Incredibly aggravating.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 I'd think he'd have issues with Chara since Chara would be so much taller than Kocur.... Remember when Cleary challenged Pronger last year?

My dad did the same thing when he was doing play-by-play for high school basketball games. He didn't talk that way any other time. I wonder if Woods only does it on the radio. I wonder if Woods only does it on the radio. I'm sure it's just the way he does his commentary. Everybody has their own style obviously and I would guess he does it just to establish his "rhythm". It's akin to Doc Emrick's "....back to Lidstrom.... back to Datsyuk... back to Zetterberg... back to Lidstrom, DRIVE!!!" I'd be surprised if he talked like that when he wasn't doing a game. Vladifan 680 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 My dad did the same thing when he was doing play-by-play for high school basketball games. He didn't talk that way any other time. I wonder if Woods only does it on the radio. I'll bet he didn't have a spotter, huh. Probably had to do it on his own. And I would imagine it's not easy for anyone to have to try to watch the game and check for numbers and names. For instance, Craig Way who does the Longhorn broadcasts here uses his own kid Andy who's really good at it. Probably keeps the kid in McD money. However, that doesn't our guy for his "uhs". Surely Mike can afford a spotter?!

Vladifan 680 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Two St. Louis Blues fans are alone in their section as they watch the hockey game against the Chicago Blackhawks What's really scary is that they're not looking down all that much - mostly out. Which means they're probably on a lower level.
FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Can't imagine that we wouldn't come out flying tonight. I'm sure Babs & the players are still pissed about the 8-0. I almost feel sorry for the Blues, but then I remember Federko,Tkachunky and all those other great personalities they have. We win 8-2 (or more)
Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Wings win since they are rested haven not played since Friday. I was thinking the same thing. It's rare to have this long of a break between games at this point in the season. Hope the Wings took full advantage
