ChelisChick 174 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 The Avs will wish this game was played in ten-minute halves ‘Cause the Wings will make ‘em chase ‘til they get cramps in their calves. Zetts and Dats will deke 'em like two sweet Toyota RAVS And the Avs will find that for their wounds, there's no Known salves. 4-1 Wings Salve....now there's a word you don't hear often! Guest Shoreline Report post Posted March 5, 2009 With or without players, I think there should be some more jump to this game given the Avs have given the Wings plenty of trouble this season. Hopefully some sticks happen to pummel Laperriere's face.

MagicMan13 8 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 This was posted at the bottom of the yahoo.com page for the pre-game. "G Chris Osgood posted his first shutout of the season. It was the first blanking by a Red Wings goaltender this season. ... RW Marian Hossa was taken off the ice on a stretcher with a head injury. He was taken to the hospital but appears to be OK. ... Detroit has won 11 of its last 15 games." Of course they forgot to mention the 6 shutouts that Conks has this year....

Why would they talk about Conklin's shutouts when discussing the happenings of last night's game? That blurb wasn't talking about this evening's game, so Conklin was rightfully not mentioned. Your expectations from a site like Yahoo are clearly too high.

Good point, never thought of that, but just adding fuel to the fire of the no respect we rant about all the time, and the complete lack of talent reporting on the NHL. That is why I mentioned it...totally wrong. They made a mistake with the wording. As Xitium pointed out, it's a typo, not the end of the world. I mean, wasn't it obvious what they meant anyway, typo included? You could have just substituted the right word in there in your mind and voila.

Sorry, but a simple typo doesn't mean "no respect" or a lack of talent in reporting. They meant "the" and they typed "a". Have you ever made a grammatical error like that? We all have. I swear, you read this and you'd think we're the most persecuted lot on earth.
