Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 He's not comfortable, when that changes, I'm excited to see what he can do. Physical, huge, and can play the PP, cant wait! The scary thing is even though he's cleary not settled in out there he's still amazingly good for a rookie d-man. He was definitely the 4th best d-man tonight. That's an impressive feat for a rookie who's played just 10 games in the NHL, and only 2 games this year. Did I mention he just came back from a serious injury and still wears a cast on his wrist? Dont get me wrong, just we wont see his full potential till he's healthy and confident, and it's going to be great. I'd love to see Tucker pulling that s*** he was tonight when Ericsson gets that cast off.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 Ericcson has impressed every single shift he's been on every NHL game he's played. This kid is going to be something. His rocket of a shot keeps me on edge every time. And I noticed Stuart's rocket is getting going lately, too.
Bozewings 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 Very solid. Imagine if he had been healthy this season and had played 20-30 games with the Big Boys. I think that's all he needs. Now whether he's ready for playoffs.... I guess we'll see.
Casey 145 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 He'll be ready come playoff time. I give him ten games before he fits in seamlessly.
Grim 5 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 Ericsson is a collosal beast... he absolutely dwarves Franzen! He doesn't look lost or out of step. Lets hope Ericsson keeps sharp, so if the call comes during the playoffs he can answer the bell!
MotorCityMadness 388 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 I thought against the Blues he looked very solid for not having been up with the big club in a while and then earlier tonight against the Avs (I did miss the first half of the game due to night class) I thought he was solid again. There was one small play, in the second I believe, where he calmly got back and took the puck away from Smyth very smoothly in one motion and quickly touched it to Kronner and back on the transition they went. I thought that play, even though it had no bearing on the outcome, just shows that he is poised to be very good for years to come.

SweWings 45 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 I love that we can rely on bringing up prospects for depth instead of trading for it. Sweeeeet!!
CrossCheck24 2 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 3rd favorite player behind Lids and Z, I don't see how you can keep Lebda, Andres "KO" Lilja, or Cheli in front of this guy next year. With all of the talent at GR, I would bet they would play the islanders pretty stiff.....
MidMichSteve 1,115 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 I love that we can rely on bringing up prospects for depth instead of trading for it. Sweeeeet!! That's dead on. Everyone here would be thrilled if we had acquired him at the deadline.
Red Crazy 201 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 I thought he looked good too. Just needs time with the big team now and to get his cast off and he should have a roster spot next season. I just hope that he has some grit for all that size.
lfd250 1 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 (edited) He's played two games against SL and COL. and some of you are calling him the next big thing. Hey, that's ok, it's good to be excitied about a player. However, I will wait a little longer. He was a -1 vs COL. Edited March 5, 2009 by lfd250

Johnny Diamonds 25 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 I was very impressed with him, he moves like the wind. He's fun to watch out there. I still can't get over the void left when Fischer had to call it quits. But I think Ericsson can help fill that void.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 I like him better than lilypads... and since its him or him... yeah i choose him! I see it as a choice between him and Lebda. I agree with your conclusion, though. E>Lilja>Lebda. I think E and Lilja will be playing in the playoffs, whether or not they will be together on the 3rd or if E will be up with Kronner remains to be seen. titanium2 867 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 He has grit to his game. Plus, if you look on YT you'll find multiple clips of him fighting. However, he's pretty good with the puck and so I don't know if anyone wants those hands fighting. Like Hossa.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 I like him better than lilypads... and since its him or him... yeah i choose him! Uh, what? Lilja has yet to be a scratch, and has been playing phenomenally this year. Meanwhile Lebda has been a healthy scratch, and is decent when at his best. I have no idea what made you draw that conclusion. Perhaps the Wings penchant for not overdoing it with big players?

Hey, that's ok, it's good to be excitied about a player. However, I will wait a little longer. He was a -1 vs COL. Tell that to the Wings management. He's also a former AHL all star and has a 100.1 mph slapshot. What's your point? He's the #1 prospect on the Wings depth charts and receives praise form other teams and their fans. Hell, even the TSN guys were frothing at the mouth over him. Did you even watch any of his 10 games he's play in the NHL?
