T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 You forgot to mention his .222 shot percentage! HE's a bright young prospect alright. HE sure isn't getting any more handsome, though, thats for sure. Glad he's back, most people don't get a second chance like that. He sure has made the most of it. Hindsight: Better to have partied the $ away with friends and (temporary)loved ones than to have lost it all in the stock market!
Mickey Redmond 15 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 he should probably just stay in the AHL.

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Hey, if he's having fun playing with the kids in GR (and can serve as a mentor to them), all the better.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 All this tells me is Mac still has the talent, but he's lost a step. That's why he's doing better in the slower AHL. That a boy Mac, hopefully you get some playoff games buddy! Whether it was out of loyalty or not, I'm glad we brought him back.
Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted March 14, 2009 I voted 5-stars for this thread because I am happy for D-mac. He's always been one of my favorite players and only wish him the best. to McCarty!
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 I have no problems with Detroit paying D-Mac a two-way for another year or two to be an inspirational figure and veteran leader in GR. A great sort of player to have playing with a developing roster imo.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Good for him. May he be very successful in GR.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted March 15, 2009 Mac is and always will be one of the most popular Wings all-time. It sucks that he doesn't perform like he used to at the NHL level, but nobody can do that forever. I'm glad he's found an important role for himself with the Griffs. He can do the Wings a lot of good by helping those kids out.

akustyk 84 Report post Posted March 15, 2009 Mac always was and always will be among my favourite Wings. he had his share of problems in his life but he's been a great player who brought high spirit to the team and energized it. the type of character you love to have on a playoff bound team. I'd love to see him back with Wings in playoffs if his health/condition, time and roster allows.

GROwl 5 Report post Posted March 16, 2009 i thought this was gonna be a sarcastic thread about haydar Speaking of Haydar, have you seen his stats lately: GP G A PTS PIM 67 26 43 69 24 Haydar has really stepped it up with all of the injuries and call-ups. 4th leading scorer in AHL. No sarcasm. I believe that was Griffin McCarty with his dad at the season ticket holders event after the game. Maybe that's why Darren keeps coming back...he's just waiting for his son to join him on the team. Griffin traveled and practiced with the Griffins last year on spring break. Bring him on. Lets draft the kid now!

GROwl 5 Report post Posted March 16, 2009 He had an awesome break-away goal against Legace in the game Friday. It was the loudest I've ever heard Van Andel. How much was attributable to DMac, and how much to the $1 beer/$1 dogs? Just kidding, Oulahen referred to DMac as Mr. Friday Nights after the game because DMac always plays so well on Fridays (Hat Trick, etc,).
