Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I'm not pro-Crosby by any means, but if this is true he gets some respect. On the other hand, Ovie gets a minus for squeezing the stick too tight and headhunting. It's bizarro world
bellarina 1 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Savard is crap always running his mouth, more than Sid. Props to Sid, made Savard look like a total *****. And Sid can throw em, he would have knocked Savard on his ass.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Got alot more respect for Sidney if true. I love Savard, but if your beaking him like that, and backing down when he takes it off,
Carman 387 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Savard seems like a good fit for Detroit.
SuperNovaXll 124 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Classy move by Sid... Smart move by Savard. Noone wants to get it in the jewels. Yep...that about sums it up.

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 So this is basically what I heard: Savard and Crosby get into each others faces a few times early in the game and at some point, Savard suggests he'd fight Crosby, but won't because Crosby wears a visor and basically ridicules him for it. End of shift, Crosby goes to bench, has visor removed and comes back out and challenges Savard......nothing happens. While nothing really comes of this....pretty damn funny. I think Crosby dealt with this really well. Pretty clever in my opinion. He knew Savard wouldn't fight him and even if he did fight him they'd be an even match. It was a win/win situation for Crosby and he came out looking like the bigger man. Smart move.
mjlegend 155 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 So when Hossa starts fights, it's stupid and he's in danger of hurting himself and when Crosby starts fights, he's a brave gladiator and the second coming of Gordie Howe. Gotcha.

sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Savard is crap always running his mouth, more than Sid. Props to Sid, made Savard look like a total *****. And Sid can throw em, he would have knocked Savard on his ass. Wait a second -- Are we talking about the same Sid here? The Sidney Crosby I watch would knock anyone on their ass, however he would have no problem punching them in the ass -- Maybe that's what you meant... But hey, what can ya do -- stuff happens. At least it wasn't embarrassing as this absolute spectacle put on by none other then one of the Motherland's finest - Alexander Semin: HA HA, I can watch that video non-stop, I mean I can't remember finding a hockey video as funny as this in some time. The music makes it that much better too -- god, I love it. How much do you wanna bet that Crosby (as well as some of our guys) hear quite a bit of this from the opposition (this is second on my list of funny hockey clips behind the Semin temper tantrum seen above): Pic taken from Sundays game courtesy of yahoo NHL gallery (no visor) Nice find! under_par_00 45 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Great find on that pic! Good move by Crosby. Not to knock Crosby or anything but who wouldnt be willing to drop them with Savard? Id take Crosby for the W in that scrap.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Got alot more respect for Sidney if true. I love Savard, but if your beaking him like that, and backing down when he takes it off, dito. never been a big fan of him and am fed up with all the hype around him but... this is big thing from him and he deserves praise for this
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) Crosby has certainly gained some more points in my book, perhaps enough to negate complaining about Ovechkin's celebrations and physical play on himself Same goes for Savard and losing some I liked him since he joined Boston (was neutral before that) Edited March 17, 2009 by T-Ruff
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Also. But isn't Crosby worried about someone messing up his "new face of the NHL"? I can't help but think about this happening after Pittsburgh got back into the hunt for a playoff spot.
2probert4 8 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Sid and Savard were chirpin all game. Savard supposedly wanted to fight and was calling Sid out for wearin a visor. Sid did not want to start a fight but he was not backing down so he took the visor off to send a message. Savard didn't attempt to start anything after Sid took his visor off. At what point in the game did Sid remove the visor? What was the score, and so on? If it were late and Boston was down, they don't need Savard in the box for 5 minutes.... I did not see the game so I don't know, but perhaps take the game situation into consideration. Watching those 2 fight would be pretty funny though... bellarina 1 Report post Posted March 19, 2009 Wait a second -- Are we talking about the same Sid here? The Sidney Crosby I watch would knock anyone on their ass, however he would have no problem punching them in the ass -- Maybe that's what you meant... NO!! I don't know why its hard for you to understand what I wrote. What I meant is that he would have wiped the mat with Savard. He would have ***** slapped Savard. He would have Smoked him, he would have ........ Thats what I meant. I'm not saying he's an NHL tough guy, by any means. He can hold his own against his size and skilled nhl players. He obviously not going to fight goons like Downey.
