GROwl 5 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) I have to go with Aaron Downey. Not much skill, but a heck of a lot of heart...and my butt is sitting in Grand Rapids ... when all I want is to be in Detroit! Edited March 25, 2009 by GROwl
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 I started as a forward and became a pretty good two way forward who could definitely score, but later in my career I shifted back to defense and at one point played defense full time, becoming the best defenseman on my team. I was a decent skater but my success at all positions always came back to my vision and ability to see the play developing and know where to go. I'm Mark Howe. XxGoWingsxX 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 Me thinks we should christen you Keith Primeau...Your about the same size as Primeau (Mule listed @ 6'2"), and dropping the mitts was something KP was more than willing to do (Primeau even dropped the mitts with Probert during a practice). I'm good with being primeau except My style is more mule.....gameplay wise, but my grit is more like keith's

Casey 145 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) I'm probably Keith Tkachuk. Decent hands, not afraid in the least to drop the gloves if need be. I'm a bit smaller- 5'11", 180#, but style's similar. Any ideas? Edited March 25, 2009 by Casey

Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) Hm, rather than pick for myself, I'll let someone take this info and pick for me, just to make things interesting: Height: 6'1" Weight: ~160 lbs (if I were in better physical shape at the moment, I'd project more around 185-190, given my frame so go with that) Build: Thin (that is, something of a lanky build), leggy, average shoulders, long reach Shot: Right (Despite being a righty, defensive stickwork with left isn't a problem, but shooting left-handed is less than desirable) Position: Any skating position Mental qualities: Strong mind/intelligence for the game, but tends to overthink rather than go with instincts occasionally, good work ethic, though occasionally prone to making a lazy play when tired; a silent competitor, doesn't show much emotion or optimism but has a lot of inner drive -- Possible leadership qualities, but by example, not by charisma; not suited for a team's captain, however. Focus can sometimes be a problem, but if kept engaged, can play an extremely lethal and confident game. Not very physically aggressive, but doesn't shy away from playing the body when needed, and can occasionally deliver a surprising open ice hit. Does not intimidate or agitate easily. Not prone to making sloppy or lazy penalties. Sees the play well and can often think several steps ahead. Physical: Upper body strength moderate-low, pretty high in the forearms but not so much in the upper arms and chest. Moderate aerobic endurance, high anaerobic endurance. High lower body strength, particularly legs, very fast skater, very much a sprinter. High hand-eye and reflexes. High energy in short bursts. Medium agility, but not great Skills: Excellent stickhandling and stickwork, performs it like art. Fairly straightforward skater, with decent nimbleness and the occasional moves, but prefers to get things done with speed and stickwork. Moderate shot but quick release and high accuracy on all shots. Good deflection/front-of-net skills. Crisp, accurate passes. Good backwards skating. Occasional problems with the brakes. Offense: No preference to pass/shoot. Good offensive mind, especially on the powerplay, but can occasionally get too creative, risky, or just overthink things a bit. Will drive the net if an opening is presented, but prefers other methods. Will shoot at an open net whenever presented, and prefers to try to sneak into the slot or pass the puck rather than shoot from every angle. Defense: Doesn't play the body particularly aggressively, but plays tight man coverage and is very aggressive with the stick, always seeking to swipe the puck or intercept a pass. Will go for the occasional open ice hit if the opportunity presents itself, but doesn't seek them. Needs to be encouraged to block shots more. Very strong backchecking, but could improve his board work a bit, possibly due partly to upper body strength. Thrives in the neutral zone and at the blue lines. Seems to take as much thrill in a good defensive play as a goal, and though usually secure and even a threat defensively, this does have the potential to result in the rare over-committal. Have fun with that, if anyone's up to the challenge. Edited March 25, 2009 by Datsyerberger

Corey Perry? Ryan Kesler? I know none of them are great fits, but that's right off the top of my head and just thinking of forwards.

Stevie Y Datsyuk 2 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 I guess I would compare myself to Brian Rafalski in terms of size and somewhat style of play. P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) I'm Mikael Samuelsson. I do things my own way and that seems to make some people mad. I don't care though as they are just nerds in internet forums and I play in the NHL. Besides, I get results (excluding few colder stints when I'm bored) and I know that's what matters. Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 I don't know if I should withdraw my previos choice of Chris Neil because just last night at work my friend said I looked more like Jordan Staal at least in the face. So I don't know I'll be whoever I need to be. I feel I'm more physical than Jordy but I also play goal but not sure if I look like any goaltenders. Sorry for any mass confusion.
