WiNgSowN 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Yep, totally clean hit. He got a penalty for that hit? Seriously? I thought it was because of something prior, there was nothing wrong with that hit. And why does someone always have to respond to a good clean hit and start some crap?...I don't get it.

Vladifan 680 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Ericsson with a hammer, Sammy just windmilling I think he did hammer somebody. The somebody who went flying away from the crowd. I certainly hope so....
Pasha13 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 He got called for roughing, not tripping. Well, I just watched it on tivo twice...the arm was up before he collided with that guy...so i dunno why it would be roughing.
Vladifan 680 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Flipper with a nice LEGAL hit and of course a Sabers player has to go after him for it. The egos in the NHL these days are ruining the game. I'm confused. Again. Is that why Flip was penalized? For that hit??!!
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 What has gotten over our Euros? And Ericsson reminded me of Lilja with that dominance he showed. Must be the southern Swedes. Lilja, Big E, Mule and Sammy are from the south part. They must have extra testosterone in the water.

MidMichSteve 1,115 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Filppula says I am Datsyuk lite. Sammy says enforcer what! Big Rig shows you don't f*** with him because he will destroy you. Lidstrom shows he's soft. Someone punches you in the face you have to get pissed and defend yourself el capiton. The Captain has ice water running through his veins. He's never been a fighter. He would rather draw a penalty then retaliate. He's
Vladifan 680 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 It was a trip close to the slot about 5 seconds before that hit that Flip got called for, not the bump. The announcer's said there was a delayed penalty coming before all that...the official scoring on nhl.com says roughting....yeah i dont get that... Naw, I think the delayed penalty was on Lidstrom. But I honestly hope you're right. That could not be a penalty on Filppula.

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 Naw, I think the delayed penalty was on Lidstrom. But I honestly hope you're right. That could not be a penalty on Filppula. Eddie O was misidentifying Flip for Nick for a while but he corrected himself. I'm not sure why they changed Flipper's penalty to roughing but he was totally getting called for the trip. Ruys92 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 What do you guys think of Ericssons aggressiveness?? Should he be enforcer or is he going to wind up like Lilja?
Mike 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 (edited) How is it ruining the NHL? you can't tell me you weren't entertained by Sammy and Big Rig throwin' punches... Do you want fights after every hit? Because that is what is starting to happen. There is more retaliation after clean hits then ever before. I love fights, but fighting after a clean hit is stupid. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 I'd like to see Datsyuk pick up a few points in this last period. Hit that 100 mark by the end of the season.
Pasha13 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 What do you guys think of Ericssons aggressiveness?? Should he be enforcer or is he going to wind up like Lilja? I dunno, Ericsson looks kinda pretty to be an enforcer...he's gonna have to get a couple scars first...and a mustache.
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted April 7, 2009 What do you guys think of Ericssons aggressiveness?? Should he be enforcer or is he going to wind up like Lilja? Like Lilja? Is this the same Lilja who destroyed Souray, Neil, Phaneuf, Begin, Boll, etc? Check your facts next time before you post. Just because he slipped in his last fight and had a draw doesn't mean that he's no longer a great enforcer.

Did you watch hockey in the '80s? Back then people fighting was waaay up. over a fight per game. people fought for no other reason than just to fight. and it was entertaining as hell.
