Red Wings Highlight Reel Goal of the Year

I figured that if someone cared enough to upload an individual video to YouTube then the goal really is highlight reel worthy.

Ideally I'd like the voting to be based on aesthetics, impromptu creativity, style points, etc. and not so much the game situation.

If I missed one, select other and then let me know which one it is.

I really like the goal against Dallas where Datsyuk dekes someone and makes a perfect pass to Homer who just puts it in.

And the one recently against Philly I think, where he kinda jumped around a player to beat him to the puck, and made a cross-ice pass to Franzen for the goal.

I didn't want to be boring and choose "other" though, so I went with Z's spin-o-rama. Something about it just makes me feel so good watching it.

Maybe because it's against the Sharks, maybe because it's short-handed. Or maybe because it's one of the few times this season Z has shown the magic we saw game in and game out in last year's playoffs.

I love those two goals along with the color commentary on the Dallas goal, "Datsyuk beautiful move-SETUP for the score!!!" It's just that for the purposes of this thread I only wanted to include highlight reel finishes. If I included great passes then to this minute I'd still be embedding videos of Pav dipsy doodling.

Franzen's against Montreal... But all of them are sick, I don't think the Wings ever had a collection of goals quite like these in a season. I think the best is yet to come in the playoffs.

f*** syaing "shades of orr". That goal is the most overrated goal in the history of hockey he shot it while was standing up and then dove in the air/lost his balance afterwards. It wouldn't be so iconic if the photographer didn't capture the perfect picture of him flying like superman. Franzen's literally shot it WHILE he was airborne and that gets my vote.

I wanted to include that one at first because, I mean, how often do we see Nick get a breakaway? But this thread is about flash, which Nick cares very little about and God bless him for that.

I'll say this though, after he scored that goal you can hear Zetterberg go "WHOOOOOO!" That was great.

cool thread. i was lucky enough to see three of these live, but two of them stand out (leino batting it the other). the zetterberg spin, and the franzen superman. When Franzen scored I told my Dad who I was with for both goals "That one was ALMOST as good as zetterbergs spin", so i have to vote for Z!!!!!!!
