Either going to be the Ducks, Calgary, or Chicago. Who would you guys rather see next?

I think the Ducks are the toughest of the three. I think Chicago would be our easiest game. Although i would love to see Detroit/Chicago in the semi-finals. Calgary looks pretty tough too i thought they were going to rip Chicago up, still not over yet though.

Actually its down to Anaheim or Vancouver. That's it. Give me the Ducks every day of the week

If San Jose wins, then don't we get Vancouver? Chicago and Calgary are not options for the next round.

Yes ... if SJ wins, they get the lowest seed, which would be Chicago or Calgary. We would play Vancouver.

If Anaheim wins, we're the highest seed left and would play the lowest, which would be Anaheim. Vancouver would play Chicago or Calgary.

Only options are Anaheim or Vancouver, Ducks or Canucks. If San Jose (#1) comes back, then they play whoever wins the Chicago / Calgary series, since the #6, #7, and #8 teams will have been eliminated, and we get Vancouver (#2 vs #3). If the Ducks win, we get them (#2 vs #8). The Canucks breezed past the Blues, so give me the Ducks -- and here's to a 7-game series between the Sharks and the Ducks where they beat the hell out of each other.

Good. This is what I thought...

If and when we finish and win with Columbus, I'm not as worried as I was about playing Anaheim. So far, the Sharks have not come close to finishing on power plays. So I'm hoping if it comes down to it, the Wings can figure out Hiller just like they seem to have done with Mason.

Yeah, I know that Columbus itself is responsible for some of our goals, but still...

I have a question about the Ducks. How many good lines do they have? I can't believe they have the depth the Wings do.

i love the optimism in this thread but this should be locked until the red wings finish the job! hockey is a funny sport and a closing game is just as important as an opening

Only two other teams have come back from an 0-3 deficit to win a series and the '09 Blue Jackets aren't the '42 Leafs or '75 Islanders. Still, I hope the Wings close out this series quickly so they get a week of downtime to rest up.

Loungo is terrifying, I'd rather get revenge on the Ducks.

Given ones' basic druthers, I'd say I'd much rather see the Wings play the Ducks. Have never played hockey but Luongo looks like a frickin' moving wall out there. :shocking:

The Getzlaf-Perry-Ryan line is the one to worry about. After that, the Selanne-and-whoever else line. They're not as deep as the Wings, IMHO. But they are big, physical, and they have good d-men.

Honestly I would love to see the Wings play the Canucks. As much as I hate the bandwagon fans in vancouver I loved beating them in 2002 and hearing all the ankles break in Vancouver, would love to see it again. That and I would get free tickets.

I hate these threads. Regardless of how inevitable it looks, its the epitome of counting chickens before they're hatched.

but in the end is this thread really gonna make the BJs play better? I hate superstitions

I fully believe our next opponent will be the lower seed of the 3 others that advance to the next round. I welcome any type of real competition... playoffs are supposed to be hard fought, not with teams sucking so bad like the BJ's

If the Wings were up 2-0 i wouldnt have made this post. They are up 3-0 against CBJ the series is over. Do you really think the Wings could possibly loose all of the next 4 games?

yes

in my mind: Hell No! I couldn't fathom the meltdown that would have to ensue

in reality, it has happened before, if you think CBJ is done and are just gonna lie down for game 4 then they should just forfeit today so our fans won't even have to make the drive ;)

I hate threads like these. While ill admit its not likely that we will loose the series, it is possible. So I would much rather talk about this AFTER we send the BJ's to the golf course.

I think the Wings will most likely face Anaheim next. That will be a tough series but I think the Wings can win that in no more than six game without ever trailing. The Wings didn't lose to the Ducks in '07 because they were more physical than us, they lost because they didn't put forth a full sixty minute effort in game five or six.

Vancouver will be another tough series, although they are somewhat beat up. Luongo and the Canucks defense corps will be hard to score against. They have some very fast, talented depth players. Probably the most balanced teams beside the Wings.
