titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 24, 2009 Did anyone predict that San Jose would respond this passively to playoff defense and intensity? Because I'll be honest, I thought a DET/SJ WCF would've been quite something to watch but at this point, they look like a cakewalk for the Wings.

Doggy 130 Report post Posted April 24, 2009 Thornton looks pretty apathetic again tonight. On Ryan's second goal it looked like he was just hoping the puck would come back to him. No backcheck, no pressure, no intensity. I don't know what this guy's waiting for.
Never_Retire_Steve 35 Report post Posted April 24, 2009 Come on San Jose! You were the best team in the regular season for Christ's sake
Mike 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2009 I really thought that the Sharks would come out hungry again. They look dead.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 24, 2009 I'm sure they're going to underestimate them after they've had our number in they playoffs? If the Wings didn't underestimate frickin San Jose, they won't underestimate the Ducks. If ANYTHING, the Ducks are more likely to underestimate us. Assuming they beat the #1 seed, they'll probably expect the Wings to fold similarly. We'll see, I guess, what happens, but.. Great point--the BJs beat us 3 times in 6 games, one of those being 8-2 at the Joe. It doesn't matter. The core of that team is playoff tested (and they passed said test) and will be ready for us. It's not that I WANT to play them as much as I want to avoid the Canucks. .. I actually kinda prefer the Canucks. As much as I'm optimistic about the Wings beating the Ducks, and want revenge, so to speak, as the Sharks show no sign of winning this game yet, it's more cautious optimism. Wanna see how they at least fare in Game 1 and set the tone. I vividly remember the high powered Wings team not taking the Ducks seriously and losing in 4 and 6. The 4 was way worse since it brought back some previously bad "sweep" memories.

Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 24, 2009 (edited) Oh my. The sky just might be falling in Silicon Valley tonight... It's now happy hour time at Dave & Busters (Randy Hahn mentioned them earlier) in Milpitas. Now would sure be fun to walk in there with a Wings jersey on. Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 24, 2009 Ducks look hun-gry. Sharks are content with their President's Trophy, either to take home or to the golf course.
