Round 2 Start

I heard Mickey say on WRIF last week that Vs. had a choice of 2 games this round. If that's the case, and NBC doing the weekend games, sounds like FSN with get up to 3 games. Which sucks for me, because I don't have Vs.

F*ck!

This is too long of a layoff... correct me if I'm wrong, but the year we lost to Anaheim in the Conference Finals didn't we have a long layoff then as well?

I know last year we swept the Lanche, but I think the Stars dispensed with their opponent quickly as well...

I think my main complaint is that the Ducks are rolling and have played a brutal series with the Sharks. I don't want them having 4 days rest before they face the Wings. Tell me how that helps us... can the Ducks get rusty in 4 days or will we be even more rusty by then?

It seems like back in the day, when all the series' were over in the NHL you would have maybe a day or two and then the next round started. Now it's all about which network gets what game...

Oh well, GO WINGS!!!

Two years ago the Canucks finished off the Stars in seven games in something like quadruple overtime after a series that was filled with overtime games and which basically was good for about ten or eleven games worth of playing time. We then had less than 48 hours rest to play a well-rested Ducks team in the next series and got creamed in the first game. Never rreally had any rest from the start of the playoffs until the Ducks eliminated us in five games. I agree with you whole-heartedly -- both the Canucks and Wings should benefit from winning in four games if past history is any precedent.

Scotzman, these statements by 'One of the Few' are incorrect. First and foremost, the Wings eliminated the Sharks in 6 games before playing the Ducks in the WCF's....meaning they had well more than 48 hours of rest before the series started. On top of that, the Wings got outplayed in the first game but *still* won it 2-1. The Wings took 2 of the first 3 games in that series before losing the final three and getting eliminated in 6, not 5.

Anyone know when the full scheldule will be released.. since rd.1 is ending today will it be realsed like tonight or 2 morow morning?

I assume they'll release it late this evening, probably a little before 12:00 ET to ensure proper travel arrangements can be made. An early morning release may not be enough time for the final 8 teams to get things together.

I was talking first and second round of the playoffs in 2007 and I didn't even mention the Wings in that context, and I didn't mention the Sharks at all. If you actually read my post (and the part you highlighted) you would know that.

Easy buddy...I did read your full post. I just assumed you were replying to scotzman's comment regarding the *Wings* and Anaheim since he posed that question initially, rather than the Canucks. Couple that with being on a Red Wings board and using the term "we" which generally is used in regards to the Wings and it was a matter of a misunderstanding. No need to get so defensive.

Also with game 2 on Saturday at 2 p.m on NBC there will be problems like in past years you have the Kentucky Derby at 4 p.m on NBC and in years past they drop the game at 4p.m

this is not good

game 2 is on SUNDAY at 2pm... not saturday

******* TSN, again with this TSN2 bs that us Rogers customers dont get!!! how can TSN opt to go with Bruins/Canes series over a Wings/Ducks is beyond me. Absolutely no respect for the champs from TSN or CBC..course they have to show the Crosby/Ovech series. nasty emails going to TSN right now.
