Dano33 41 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 I can see no way of Washington winning this series. Kunitz, Crosby, Malkin, Guerin, Satan etc. have too much firepower for Varly and Ovechkin et al were anemic against New York. 11 shots through two periods in a game seven? Pit has this series in the bag. Satan? Really? Brooks Laich is a better player than Satan. Washington's firepower cancels with Pittsburgh's. I'd say defense and whether or not Varlamov feels the pressure are the keys to this series.
Guest NumbaSixty-Six Report post Posted April 30, 2009 Kunitz-Crosby-Guerin Fedetenko Malkin Sykora Cooke staal Kennedy Adams - Talbot - dupuis Orpik-Gonchar Eaton-Letang Scuderi-Gill Boucher Fleury Garon Some Info for your emotional Rambling. Brooks Orpik? Hands down best "In your face Shutdown Dman" in our Division maybe even the conference. Sergei Gonchar? Snubbed for being a Norris Finalist last year. Scudill - Shutdown Dpair. Scuds is a reliable stay at home Dman with Hal Gill. I'd Take Eaton over any Capital not named Mike Green. Letang = Young Scott Ned Chris Kunitz is a Animal. Pound for Pound one of the best hitters in the nhl. He opens up space for Crosby and Guerin. Kunitz delievers Bone Crushing hits for a 5'11 200 pound guy. He plastered Top Defencemen Timmonen several times in the Flyers/Pens series, put chara On his ass. Guy is a warrior. Shero got him and prospect for Floating trash Ryan *Whiff*ney. Prospect is Eric Tangradi 2nd Leading scorer in OHL behind John Tavares. Fedetenko - 2004 Tampa Bay March to Cup Victory ring a bell? The guy was a Major factor in Tampa/Flyers series scoring 6 goals and adding another 6 against calgary. Staal since HCDB Took over is now a Point per game player on the third Line, playing with 23 year old Energy Winger Tyler Kennedy. Adams - Talbot - Dupuis. Who has a better 4th line? Fleury? Omfg? Kidding me? I can't believe how Underratted he is.... Luongo, Cam Ward, Marc - Andre Fleury are the top 3 Goaltenders left.

The guy was a Major factor in Tampa/Flyers series scoring 6 goals and adding another 6 against calgary. I didn't want to nitpick, but this needs to be addressed. Fedotenko has one playoff goal in 15 games since Game 7 in the Finals. He had one playoff goal in the 22 previous playoff games as well. Flash in the pan is an understatement. Even if we take the regular season at face value, this guy is basically Mikael Samuelsson.

No, Your absolutely right. However from watching him float in the regular season and scream at my tv that Malkin deserves a better linemate and looking at him play versus philly in the first round.... he really really steps his game up. russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 I want it to be Ovie vs Sid line vs line head to head. I also hope that Ovechkin then UBER CELEBRATES right in front of cat-fish Crysby every time he scores a goal.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 I think a good drinking game would be to take a shot every time Ovechkin makes Crosby cry. Although, I'm not sure your liver could handle it. The best drinking game is to take a shot everytime Ovechkin chooses to shoot when he should have passed instead. I passed out halfway through the 1st period the last time I tried that. xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 Remember the Islanders-Oilers "one dynasty passing the torch to the other" comparisons last year? Get ready for those x1000 if the Wings and Pens meet again. I'm rooting against it. Yeah and the Islanders won the first time and lost in the rematch, so if the Wings meet up with the Pens again they'll have Crosby's named engraved on the Cup before the drop of the puck in Game 1. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 I'm at work, and the flash player doesn't work on the computer I'm using, but be sure to check out NHL.com NHL.com - Ovechkin and Crosby comment on one another I checked this out, thinking it'd be cool to see what one another thought of each other, and this is basically what one another had to say: Ovechkin: "He [Crosby] probably sees the ice better than anyone in the game. We're going to have to play him and Malkin hard." Crosby: "A lot of people say he loves hockey more than anyone. I don't think thats true. We just show it differently. I love hockey just as much, if not more, than anyone in the NHL." Nice job, Crosby. Ovechkin compliments you and talks hockey, and you complain about how people perceive you, and insinuate that Ovechkin is no better than you. Props. And you wonder why you aren't everyones golden boy.

softshoes 83 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 Yeah, I'd like to see the Wings and Caps in the finals. That'd be a good series. though the Pens would too. The thought of beating the Pens 2 years in a row is just too good! Because of your avatar the only thing I can think of in response to your post is: "Do you want to shoot me now or shoot me later." Great avatar
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 Are you able to link to this? I can't find it anywhere on NHL.com. Sounds like an interesting read. It was on NHL.com's news ticker, and two of the features were "Sid on Ovie" and "Ovie on Sid." They were video clips of each guy talking about the other for about a minute. But now I dont see them on there, which is weird, because I watched them not 4 hours ago.

Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted May 1, 2009 I would agree with this... except that the playoff beard also willed Sergei Fedorov to channel the 1990's version of himself. Therefore, the only logical conclusion is that "the beard is back". QFT

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted May 1, 2009 Yes, he did. Fleury fails hard when it matters the most. Game 5 means jack s*** when you choke on the goal that loses you the big prize. That goal was a bit fluky in how it went in, but the fact that it got through him on a seemingly harmless shot was bad. The rebound on the Sammy shot that made for Flipper's goal in that game was much worse.
