Bruins vs. Hurricanes

I think this will be a really good series. Carolina is a more formidable opponent than Montreal and the Bruins will get their first playoff test. The B's do have forwards that can do damage and have a good defense. I think this series will fall on Thomas and Ward, whichever netminder outplays the other takes the series. I'm predicting the Bruins in 5, but with the way the Canes looked in the NJ series at times they might be able to steal more than one game. What are your thoughts?

i took canes in this series

but would not be shocked if the bruins win cause they are both very good teams

and carolina is much better than montreal this is gonna be the first time these playoffs the bruins will actually have to compete as montreal was really no cometition

i may also be overally impressed with the canes because i had the devils in the finals and the canes proved me to be very wrong

should be a very exciting series tho

I honestly doubt that Boston will take this series. They still are in somewhat fluke situation (same as Montreal last year) and I think it will end pretty soon. Carolina is experienced team that may take it to them.

I hope the Canes give them as much trouble as possible, but the Bruins aren't the Devils.

I want to see what Thomas does against an unrelenting, crease crashing opponent.

I'm just not sold on the guy, sorry. Ward is playing out of his mind right now and the Canes are riding an enormous wave of momentum.

Don't get me wrong the B's are a great team, but I think carolina might have this in 7.

Why is everyone writing off Boston? I think they'll take it in 5 easily.

I'm with you, I think the B's will take it rather easily, though I have to cheer for the Canes since we have home ice against everybody but the B's.

That said, I don't see anybody that can match the Wings....

I'm pulling for the 'canes, but the Bruins are the more formidable team, no doubt. If there's one team in the East that could conceivably do some damage against the Wings, it's the Bruins.

In any case, it should be a really good series. I'm loving this postseason thus far.

Carolina or bust.

I have completely illogical and irrational hate of Boston.

That is why we can never see each other again. It would just stir up old memories.

Boston and Carolina are my fav's in da East.

This is going to be a great series!

I could see either team winning. I guess I'd pick Boston.

Gotta say, Eric Staal has be great for the 'Canes though.

Because they are getting their way a little too much recently. Between the Patriots, Celtics, and Sox, they've got their arms full of enough championships as it is. The B's are the only team that hasn't won it all in recent times. We aim to perpetuate this condition.

Boston, on the other hand, f***in' rocks.

Carolina has some established, pure goal-scorers in Whitney and Staal. Boston has a tough defense and solid goaltending but they won't be able to stop everything. Carolina actually has big-game experience, Boston is over-achieving right now: how many of their players can be described as having "break-out seasons"?

This series will be similar to the Wings/Ducks of '07. The Bruins are an aggressive, physical team but the Hurricanes can match that and are opportunistic. Ward and Thomas won't be their teams' achilles heel.

I prefer experience over exceeded expectations. Carolina in seven games.

I think the B's pose the biggest threat out of the eastern conference. They are unproven though, and this series should be a good indication of where things sit.

Boston plays tough, back-checks, has a size advantage over most of the remaining teams and a Vezina-candidate goalie, but I still rank them below Pittsburgh as far as a threat in the East. Pittsburgh has everything the Bruins have, and then they have the experience which puts them over the top.

Should Boston face Washington in the Conference Final they'll have a cake walk to the Cup Final. However I don't see the Caps having any success against the Pens. In a Boston/Pittsburgh matchup Kunitz, Talbot, and Cooke will make Lucic, Chara, and Thomas liabilities and Crosby, Gonchar, and Malkin will bury them in power-play goals.

Actually, it's because of the retarded fan who punched Steve Yzerman in the face on the way to the locker room.

Boston. :ranting:

But the BAND... <3<3<3
