Instead, all you've done is add to the non "hockey talk" by telling everyone about it. Judging from the number of responses so far, I'd say this thread is pretty popular, but feel free to go to a different one if you don't like it. That's because LGW is Philadelphia West. We're the official 2nd home of whiny, threatened babies. I don't know why so many LGWers hang onto everything Sid does. My guess is there's some kind of personal issues behind the affair. What does Sidney Crosby need the league to hand him? He's a 100 point per year player and a 1.33 point per game player in the playoffs over his career. He doesn't need anybody to hand him anything when he can just do what he wants on the ice. I just find it funny the amount of hatred and vitriol leveled at the kid. Look at some of the threads here on LGW about Datsyuk, Hossa and company not getting it done. Our guys aren't doing their jobs and most of the comments are wishy-washy, rah-rah, go get 'em guys. And here Crosby answers a reporter's question and Wings fans get their collective panties in a bunch. In case anybody missed it, Crosby popped a hat trick last night. FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 I would love to see a Wings - Caps final and hear you guys piss and moan about Ovechkin slamming up on the boards and sticking his finger in the air every time he scores a goal, or when he and Backstrom do their little football player jump into each other after a game. I would love to see that too. I think the Photoshop War thread would be awfully short though. Green would probably get a few "you can't defend" posts,but that's about it. It doesn't seem to matter what he does, the people on these boards will nitpick him for something. It was an extended delay after the hat trick and he wanted to get his team out there to try and rally, what's the big deal? I understand that people don't like him but it's quickly becoming a pastime to ***** about Crosby--irony belts a slapper in for a goal. When Ovechkin complains to the ref about a call against his team he thinks is weak, he's "leading by example for his team." When Crosby complains to the ref about a call against his team he thinks is weak, he's "whispering sweet nothings in the ref's ear" or "being a *****." The double-standard applied by biased fans is hilarious. I thought that I'd get some good hockey insight from the folks of Detroit when I joined this forum a year ago, and there are definitely reasonable hockey minds that post on this board, but intelligent banter is more difficult to find than I hoped. While Crosby does irritate me on occasion and it's fun to make fun of him, there are a good number of posters who sound like a disgruntled ex of Crosby's trying to find some sort of justification to keep bitching about him for breathing wrong. More irony is you'll find many of the same posters whining about people all over Avery for his antics. Then we compare that to Crosby whining about hats and wanting to get his team back on the ice.. yeah. Have to agree. Lots of stupid people. Sort of what I was trying to say earlier, but I didn't articulate it this well. If you're a competitor and you get a goal scored on you, your first instinct is to want to get the F back out there and get it back. The hats were keeping Crosby from doing that and he was POed about it. So he whined to the ref (I've acknowledged that he's a whiner). BFD. In case you haven't noticed, complaining about crap to the ref is a pretty common thing, it's not the exclusive domain of Sidney Crosby. And he probably had no intention of sharing that with the general public, except he was later asked specifically what he said. I'm not sticking up for the guy. Like I've said, I don't even particularly like him. IMO and like I said, great player who was given too much before he was ready for it. But the level of hate for him on here is ridiculous. It easily exceeds that of Claude Lemieux, Chris Pronger, Jordin Tootoo...you know, people who have actually pulled crap against our team. In fact, I'm going to speculate that a lot of the reason people like Ovechkin isn't because they actually like what he's about, but more because he's Crosby's arch-nemesis or whatever. Oh well, my opinion's out there, I'm off this one. See you guys after Crosby's next postgame interview, when he'll surely say something that pisses you guys off.
