Gnredwing 10 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Brad Watson should go work at burger king and screw up the orders there. On the bright side if the Wings are feeling any of the feelings the fans are feeling, pissed off, ready to kick somones ass, they will need to use it to there advantage. Maybe the f***ed up call will actually be a turning point in the Wings favor in that the Wings will now play with a more determined, grittier, hungrier pace. The Wings looked soft again in the beginning of this game, so hopefully they will build off being f***ed by the ref and really take it to the ducks.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 I agree that the ending to this game has the potential to spur the team onwards- if Babs can stoke the fires correctly. God I hope he stokes the fires correctly.

Matt 1,049 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Honestly, that's what I took out of the end of this game. If the Wings needed a chip on their shoulder and some adversity to stare down and overcome, this is it. They need that test at some point in every Cup run. Last year it was dropping two in Nashville, this year it's the half-effort and getting outworked by the Ducks and then the final nail was getting jobbed by a ridiculously premature whistle. Time to man up.
theman19 47 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 I'll also point out, that with a terrible call against the wings,...things are going to go the wings way call wise from now on.
Anaheim Lucks 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 All I want to see in the papers tomorrow is "Brad '*******' Watson demoted to pre season games for the rest of his career". That will make me happy. Douchebag can't handle the playoffs.

GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 To be honest with you, I don't know what to expect from this lethargic team. I expected them to come out fired up tonight and to play Wings hockey, but they looked like crap out there for the first half of the game. If a team has to wait before they're down 2-0 to start playing, then they're not doing something right. This kind of s*** worked in the regular season, but it doesn't in the playoffs. Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 They say every team needs it. More specifically ever team needs to overcome it. Well here you go Wings, there's a big steaming pile of adversity in your way. The murderous rage that is within me over the officiating is probably warranted. At least warranted as far as obsessed hockey fans go. However, the Wings did dig their own hole early. So now, it's all on them. What happened, happened. If the Wings are even remotely as pissed off as we are right now, we won't have to worry about Game 4. If we see another start like Game 3? Well, it doesn't need to be said. It's my mom's birthday, and I had to tell her I'd talk to her tomorrow. I want to go through the teleporter with a fly in the pod, get murged into JakeRyanFly, and then go and regurgitate onto that official's hand, since it didn't point at the back of the goal when a clear good goal had been scored anyway. Damn. I'm so fricking pissed.

pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 I was betting we'd split with them in games 3 & 4 but was praying we'd win game 3 so I wouldn't have to go insane during game 4. I'm lucky enough to see both games live in person... If they aren't as pissed as we are and dominate the Ducks from the first second of game four, I will personally stop the Wings bus and ask for my $500 back. Yes they did dig themselves in a hole, but the were able to dig themselves out, but were robbed by a BS ref. Adversity should come from the opposition not the refs. Its not the first time, it wont be the last, but its frustrating. Edited May 6, 2009 by Statts

Add the feeling of getting jobbed.....I don't know why but I think the Wings have a Duck beatdown ready for the next game.
lets go pavel 2 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 I'm really hoping this inspires the boys to not leave the game in the hands of the refs tomorrow. Quit screwing around, no more come-from-behinds, let's just take care of business in the 1st period. A 4 goal lead sounds nice ... (knocking on wood) ... Esquire 324 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 I'll start to panic in the 3rd period of the series deciding game, but until then, I've got full confidence that the NHL's best team over the last decade will win this series. The fact alone that the Wings put the puck in the back of the net before the game ended (that's how I'm viewing 'The Call'. ), should at least show that they're hungry as hell. What I liked about that game was that Helm was once again a monster for us, Datstuk is finally starting to get some time and space out there, Ericsson turned in another fine game, and Zata finally got on the board. What I don't really seem to be seeing a lot of around the LGW boards is any recognition that the Wings are shutting down the Ducks top line by holding them to just an assist last night. I'm hoping that this is an indication that the Ducks physical play is finally starting to wear on themselves because the Wings seemed to be the much quicker team (well, save for Cheli on that Selanne breakaway. ). Wings just have to get a lot more traffic in front of Hiller and players not named Samuelsson have to start shooting the puck a LOT more. GO WINGS GO!!!
