detroitsportsman05 1 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 The last four times the Detroit Red Wings have found themselves down in a series 2 games to 1 they have won game 4 (obviously on the road.) Year Round Opponent Game 4 Result 2007 - Round 2 - San Jose - W 3-2 2006 - Round 1 - Edmonton - W 4-2 2004 - Round 2 - Calgary - W 4-2 2002 - Round 1 - Vancouver - W 4-2 I know this doesnt focus on the entire series...however optimism for a game 4 win is a must, and seeing the Wings tie up the series the past 4 times is very encouraging. Lets.Go.Wings.

Wingsfan1987 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Yes it is encouraging! Hopefully the fire the guys had after the game carries over, and we come out strong and get the pucks behind Hiller WITHOUT the ref saying he "lost the puck". The other thing I'm taking as a positive is how close the losses have been...at least we haven't been 100% shut down (knocks on wood) Wings in 6!

Vladifan 680 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Optimism is a hard sell around here. Not for me it isn't. I appreciate you researching this and putting it on here, Detroitsportsman. Any ray of sunshine right now is better than mewling and puking and bitching. Thanks for the upbeat and factual info!
Herr Hockey 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) Guess they're due to lose one Haha just kidding. I couldn't resist. Wings are going to tie this series up, and I'll be there at game 5 to watch them take the series lead. ETA: Speaking of game 4 against SJ... *points at signature* Edited May 6, 2009 by Herr Hockey

Captain_Yzerman19 1 Report post Posted May 7, 2009 Since we are trying to get revenge on the Ducks, how does this sound for optimism? We lead 2-1 heading into game four in 2007. Anaheim won three straight. Now we're down 2-1, looking to win three.
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted May 7, 2009 Yeah, but last time we were in this position, we had a GOD named Bobby Lang on our team who could score clutch goals. He's no longer here.

Screw the entire series...we'll worry about that after we win game 4! It sounds kind of stupid with the series (hypothetically) at 2-2, but I really think we pull it off if we win tomorrow. Thanks for the optimism. Usually not my thing, but I have to admit that when others have it, it rubs off on me.

#19forPresident! 1 Report post Posted May 7, 2009 Optimism is an excellent test of character. It's easy to be optimistic when you're holding the tall chip stack at the final table, but God love the man who's smiling when the blinds put him all in. Anyways, it's easy for me to be optimistic, I supported this team when they hadn't won a cup in over 40 years, if they fall of the map again in the future, so be it, I'll still root for them. Hell maybe then I could afford season tickets!

I was going to put up a Youtube vid of the goal to remind the masses of Captain Clutch's contributions, but I'll be damned if no one has had the good sense to upload it yet. What's the Internet come to when you can't find a virtual shrine of Bobdom on any given site on the web? :nonono:
