Why the Ducks are losing..

Yah, putting that 8 up there on the win notch list is just as good as putting #16 up there. Wings got one more victory to make sure they get done, and this cup run is in the bag. They better nut up in Anaheim and make sure they don't leave it to chance in Detroit. Because chance never favors the Wings with the sh!tty ass officiating.

I am sorry but I found this gem on the Ducks forum and I had to share it with you all.

Well, at the 8 minute mark or so, it was time for everyone to get desperate. I saw a few desperate individuals, but the team as a whole must've thought they had some time to spare. Ebbett was recovering pucks more often than the defenseman, Ryan and Getzlaf ended up recovering a couple too. I was hoping the extra day of rest would help. But they still look a little tired.

They did, however, do an excellent job of staying out of the penalty box. The refs still aren't putting the Diving Wings in the box when they engage in their team patented practice. How many times were Wings flopping on the ice, when a Duck merely skated close to them? The Diving Wings are pathetic.

It comes down to game 6, not because 6 is an elimination game, but because a Ducks victory in game 6 would put the Red Wings back on their heels. A game 6 victory would mean that the Ducks were refreshed, and if not refreshed, absolutely desperate to get to the Western Conference Finals, and the Ducks at their top game are better than the Diving Wings at their top game. If the Ducks bring anything less than their best effort though, the Diving Wings will come out on top.

So one game, sixty minutes, and all other cliches, if the Ducks can bring their best for all of it, the odds are in their favor to advance to the Conference Finals. If they don't bring their best, it'll only be a testament to their taking too much for granted. Yeah, the Ducks are more talented than the Diving Wings, but they've got to work just as hard as the Diving Wings for that superior talent to show itself. "

So the Ducks have more talent then Detroit? Really? Do they watch the same games we do?

Taking Chicago, Boston, Carolina, Pittsburgh, or Washington lightly is retarded; they're all great teams.

They're all beatable, but saying Anaheim is the hardest to beat out of them shows how little you know about hockey.

you've got a very good point, I'm feeling the same way, all our fans need to stop gloating we haven't won anything yet, we are up by one game just like they were last week, things can turn around very fast, I hope we can win Game 6 don't want any part of a Game 7 against the Ducks. they are down we need to keep them that way

We the fans can gloat all we want, we don't play. If the players are gloating, then we should worry.

All I have to say it is very hard to play with 6 players for the Ducks against 6 Red Wings, 2 linemen and 2 refs.

So let's see 6 vs 10...who do you think will win.

I have almost given up. As much as I love the Ducks and will be a fan forever, I have just lost all faith in the NHL Officials. The Red Wings get away with murder. It is just not fair. How can you play a fair game with those kind of odds. If I was the Ducks players, I would be completely frustrated. In the first period, Pronger gets a high stick to the head, NO CALL, and the numerous holding, interference, etc and nothing called on Detroit.

How can we compete against that? The boys are working so hard out there and nothing to show for it.

Wow, Therrien was complaining about holding and interference too. Maybe I'm wearing Red Wings glasses, but I don't see it. We're just to quick for our opponents and we have the puck all the time, I guess the opposition thinks that's holding and interference. :crybaby: "We want the puck"

Anaheim should face facts, they are an 8th seeded team going up against the Defending Champions. Not only are we trying to win the Cup again, we're trying to get revenge for 2007. Also, the Ducks top players are worn out and they have been badly outplayed since mid way through Game 3. If it wasn't for the quick whistle late in that game, the Wings would have ended the series in 5 no question.

Pronger has been a f***ing choir boy compared to past playoffs. This indicates, to me, that he is under instructions to stay out of the penalty box.

Pure and simple, they fear our PP. They haven't the defensive depth to cover their PK.

Anyone who thinks that the refs have been biased in our favor is clearly an idiot... but you can't really blame anaheim fans for not knowing anything about clean hockey. They have Chris Pronger as an assistant captain!

Precisely. And their other "A" yaps all over the ice at players 100 pounds lighter than he is. "Come on, Hudler, don't go down after I hook the crap out of you." Hudler did dive on that but it was AFTER the official COMPLETELY MISSED the legitimate hook that Getzlaf put on Hudler 2 seconds before. The officiating in the Wings/Ducks games is always a joke. It should be 5 to 2 power play advantage ratio for the Wings, but in the playoffs, it's always 6/5 due to crappy officiating. :ranting:

I love the street fight comment. No s*** the Wings are winning because they are playing hockey. I seriously doubt any team can beat the Red Wings we know four times by simply playing hockey the whole time. (Sucker punches, head hunting, and tacking Ozzie is not part of hockey btw)

Like the Ducks have room to argue, seeing as how we had a goal called off that should have counted.

This is the best response to the comment that Helm's goal should be called back because Cleary was in the crease. It is truly amazing how things even themselves out in a playoff series. Yes, there are times when one team seems to get the "big break" like when the Ducks got that Game 3 win. Then, the other team gets that key goal that the other team ******* about. In the end, it all evens out.

It doesn't even out because:

Helm's goal = good goal

Hossa no goal = bad call

The rule "in the blue paint" doesn't apply, and Cleary (or any other Red Wings player) didn't interfere with Hiller.

However, Neidermayer did interfere Osgood in game 3 on that PP goal. And there was too many other times the Ducks pushed Osgood in the net, no call.

Red Wings win fairly, Ducks need the Refs help to win. That's the fact of this series so far.

Lack of offensive depth. That is why the Ducks are losing. Getzlaf and Perry, and Selanne to a lesser degree, can only provide so much offense. They need support. And Hiller has done more than his fair share to give the Ducks a chance to win sans game 5. Other people need to net a few goals for them.

That being said, this series isn't over yet.

oh yeah they are, they are complaining and making excuses and all kinds of crap and the series isn't over yet, some fans already talking about off-season trades and stuff. California is fair weather fan haven.

I was referring to that one particular post quoted there.....but on the other hand I don't doubt at all the Ducks fans don't like the refereeing. What with Homer's elbow and a few other things, the Wings have gotten away with stuff just like the Ducks have. It just so happens the most egregious one went their way, not ours. In any case, both sides have a right to ***** about the reffing, which means, if it's not good, at least it's even.

You're probably right about this. And as he's -3 on the series and hasn't been in the plus in any of these games, I'd say it's limiting his effectiveness. He's apparently not a good defenseman unless he's hitting someone from behind.

I for one and I'm glad the team with more talent and who creates more scoring chances for themselves, is up in the series. Teams that bully and turn a hockey game into a street fight shouldn't even be in the playoffs in the first place.
