Guaranteed Cup Rematch (if we win)

I'm sorry, but I am going to be a little arrogant here to start. Will it come back to bite me? I'll take that chance. I mean, if you are a fan of the most winning team in any sport, why not strut it a little?

After we beat Chicago in 5 (6 tops) we face a Cup finals with a former Cup Finals foe - a former defeated foe. Of course it is less recent with the Canes and they have won a Cup since (probably because we weren't around to spoil it for them). Of the two the Penns have me nervous. They are going to be balls the wall out to win and they have a truck load of lessons learned. Nobody will match their hunger in the finals. We better come close. Anyone remember that first regular season rematch with the 7-6 come from behind game? It was probably the most intense amazing game of the regular season (and we lost it).

The players will of course focus on the Hawks right now, but looking ahead, it is heavy odds on that we will have a rematch with the Penns. That is going to be amazing. When has this ever happened before? I can't remember, and I can't wait (obviously). :-)

Anything anyone says will have no effect on the outcome of any game.

That being said, I don't even want to go there.

Mod please close this thread. No offense dude ... we still haven't beat the Hawks. I rather not be to confident and then get biten in the ass.

Why don't you just not click on it if you're not interested? It seems to be pretty clearly labeled.

What do you mean? Obviously, Quenneville is going to read this post and show it to everyone in the locker room. Then the Chicago players will be pissed and beat the crap out of us in 4 :(

Booooo this thread. Really, was there any need for it? Maybe it won't impact the game, maybe the Hawks touched an octopus... I don't care about that. I am highly superstitious and don't like predictions or especially jumping to conclusions. This thread could have waited until we had at least one win out of this series.... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Love your goalie.

Cause when we lose ... these are the same people that are the confident ones that are making threads like this and will start complaining and crying of how we suck and Datsyuk or Hossa or anyone else suks and needs to be traded.

Why is it that so many people keep looking forward when we haven't even STARTED this series yet? Seriously? anything can happen.

Bring this s*** up after the series is over.

I thought there would be a rematch ever since the 2nd round began, so I can't blame the OP for thinking the same thing.

If I'm not mistaken, it'd be the first rematch in the Finals since the '83 and '84 seasons. I just hope the end result isn't the same as it was then.

OK, so why don't you just go into the thread and say that to them? It's going into a link that's clearly labeled and then asking the mods to close it that's lame.

Sure it doesn't effect the outcome and sure, you can ignore the thread if you want. But it's just embarrassing to see. It's like trying to watch your awkward best friend make a move on a girl who you know is not interested, but he won't listen to anything you say.

Do you really think the NHL will let them advance into the Finals to play an original 6 team instead of giving s***sburgh that same honor?

Apparently you did not see my thread I created about Cam Ward and Osgood's numbers that was started 2 weeks before the playoffs.

Remember the last time people looked too far ahead? Wings gave a s***ty effort and lost Game 6. Now they really don't have anything to do with each other but can we please, PLEASE stick with the here and now?
