I get what you're saying and it's not exactly wrong but you're obviously not very familiar with BlakChamber. He definitely wasn't serious.

Tru' dat. I don't know who BlakChamber is. Apparently, he's a sarcastic, wise-ass. I like him alot then. He should keep up the good work. Far too many whiners around here these days.

Uh, just about every announcer NBC and Versus uses works with other teams. Doc Emrick works with the Devils broadcasts, Strader with the Coyotes, Forslund with the Hurricanes, Beninati with the Caps.. and I could go on and on. The point is, your expectations to have an announcer that doesn't work with other teams is obviously unrealistic, and this is how things in American broadcasts have been done for years. Obviously bias has not been a problem.

Strader for all intensive purposes is still a Wings announcer

From a network standpoint, NBC's choices for the "Isocam" worked out prefectly; with the games they turned in (3 total shots total with none by Kane, with each getting zero points and a -3 plus/minus), they can use the footage for the "Compulsory Figures" portion the next time figure skating is on.

Hey... coulda been worse. At least they didn't put it on Datsyuk.

I'm sure you know I spend lots of time mocking people who whine about Crosby, and especially other players who get attention besides the Wings (this is a complaint that happens WAY too much) but man the OP was so blatantly a mockery I couldn't have done a better job myself.

I disagree. Fooled me obviously. And I don't think i'm dull. And for sure, you are one of the more level headed around here, especially when it comes to the anti-Crosby fervor. As am I. But you have to admit that sarcasm/jokes about anti-Wings sentiment falls somewhere about 90 spots behind true paranoia that there really is an anti-Wings, pro everything else bias going on. A day doesn't go by around here without people whining about something. Look at my sig line for christ's sake. For the defending Cup champs, a team perennially in the top of the standings and on there way again...that we'd have far less crying and bitching around here.

Looooong gone.

But yeah, the bold is one of my pet peeves, along with "irregardless". I'm sure you meant for all intents and purposes.

Edit: Doggy beat me to it.

I think NBC is just lame when it comes to broadcasting the NHL Playoffs. Especially Pierre.....come on...JOE-HAN FRAAAAN-ZIN? I've never heard anyone keep saying the J in Johan (instead of correct pronunciation) like that moron.

I've said it many times before. I was around 49ers fans when they were spoiled brats from being in the playoffs and winning too much, and a good sum of Wings fans today remind me of them. Panic often, ***** more, and there's always (at very least) one player on the Red Wings under the guillotine.

Before I even have a chance to go off the deep end I observe others jumping first and back off. This is why people with ADHD like yours truly need to be behavioral analysts. But yeah, mocking the people you refer to is lots of fun. :P

how does what you said supposed to make it any better? what i said is they shouldnt have announcers who also work with other teams because they can be very biased. really its not too big of a deal but it just kinda bothers me

Joe Buck is usually one-half of the tandem that calls baseball games on FOX, the other being Tim McCarver. Now, Joe Buck also calls Cardinals games, seeing as he's the son of Jack Buck....legendary Cardinals announcer.

I don't think he's biased, I think he's horrible. That being said, calling games for a local team and being asked to do national broadcasts isn't a conflict of interest unless you choose to make it one.

You all are looking for s*** that is not there.

my god I'm a Wings fan but if anything they were hanging on our ballls, we also got some nice refs.

Yeah, I almost feel guilty that the Wings game was actually reffed decently, for a change, rather than absolute dogs*** like the last two series'.

Well, at least it cut down on the number of "ZOMG THE REFS HATE US!!!111!!" threads that usually pop up afterwards.

True dat. The OP's mockery is a bit refreshing given the usual, refs hate Wings, NBC hates Wings, Bettman hates Wings sort of BS that's so frequently typed.

Well then maybe they should work on getting some unbiased announcers at NBC then. And how is it unrealistic when NFL, NBA, MLB all manage to get solid unbiased national announcers? why cant the NHL have their own versionof a guy like Mike Tirico, Pat Summerall, or al michaels?

thats basically my point, but again it really isnt too big of a deal and im not too bothered by it

In what way are the announcers biased against the Wings? Did any of them say "HIT ZETTERBERG!! LIDSTROM SUCKS!! TRADE OZZIE!" or anything else of the like? Did they boo when the Wings scored?

Too much time. Not enough thought.

i get the idea that you think im just looking for ways to complain that the wings are getting unfair treatmen, which im not. as a sports fan i just dont like to see homer announcers turn around and do a nationally broadcasted game. it really isnt that big of a deal though since they didnt show any bias during the game. just the principle of the thing.

Well, when you call them "homer" and "biased", that means they've done or said something to elicit that response from you. I was curious to know what it was that they did to make you think they were incapable of calling a good game.

i dont mean today, i mean as the blackhawks announcer along with foley or whatver his name is. he was definately a homer announcer for them. so does he just turn the switch and keep his homer thoughts to himself during national games? he did good today so again its niot a big deal, just seems a little two-faced.

imagine if mickey(obvious homer) switched to do a national game and all of a sudden was completely unbiased. Does that mean that he still isnt a red wings fan on the insisde?
