shoe 165 Report post Posted May 23, 2009 After undergoing surgery to repair his right orbital bone in two places after it was damaged in a fight with Anaheim's Francois Beauchemin the last round, Kopecky pleaded with doctors to let him play wearing a full cage. "I guess there is too big a risk when I take a hit, I can lose my vision in my right eye. It's too big a risk. The doctor said it will be 4-6 weeks before the bone heals." Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted May 23, 2009 Eh, I think this is the end for Kopecky as a Wing. Why re-sign a guy that's job is to be a 4th line banger if he's broken his face and still hasnt proven he's an established point getter at NHL level. I'm not even speaking out of my dislike for him, otherwise I'd just say he's terrible and GTFO. I'm just saying, it doesnt make sense.

ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted May 23, 2009 I feel bad for the guy; two deep playoff runs and he's gonna miss them both. If we win the Cup again it will be especially painful for him.
