Are the press conferences on? Yeah, Babs just left. Waiting for some more people. Maybe you should restart your browser? Check your security settings and make sure they allow Flash. If none of that works, I don't know what to say. I'm sorry. :(

tried all of that. Turned the whole computer off and back on. Nothing.

Oh, well, at least I missed having to watch Cindy, eh? <_<

Thanks anyway!

I was just thinking this. For a rookie coach, to give respect to the Wings when it's due...honorable.

I haven't heard any retarded excuses yet...nice change of pace...lol.

Yeah he makes it hard to hate them as much as I did last year. If only Crosby was not a Penguin, oh how I would respect their team.

I was thinking the same thing. So far, he's actually pretty classy.

I know! I'm so confused... the opposition coach is saying his team could have been better...

There was nothing... he didn't say anything about us being cheaters or how we cheat or how the refs suck or anything.

I think my world just turned upside down.

Says NHL.com:

The Pens nearly got it back at 4:07 when Sidney Crosby, who played a tremendous game, attacked in close, his shot flying straight up after a save by the sprawling Osgood, and saw the puck drop on the back of the goalie, sparking another wild scrum. But it stayed out.

Does anyone else think Crosby had a "tremendous" games? I sure didn't...

Yupp, because we're not as good as Pittsburgh. I get it, unfortunately, hockey gods decide things, and not the officials, and that means Red Wings baby!

Hi everyone - i used to go to Joe Louis arena back in the 80's as a southern Ontario university student to catch the Wings. Looking forward to a great series.

As far as tonight's game goes, a lot of people are talking about the baords - well, to me it is more the goalie difference. The 3 Detroit goals certainly were not beauties, but a goal is a goal, so Pittsburgh is going to have to find away to get their goalie to play better or it is a real short series.

Some posters are too sensitive IMHO - the Wings are TOTALLY respected in Ontario, so no need to complain on this board that the Wings are not respected because that's not true. Pittsburgh just happens to have Crosby and he sells the NHL to the young 'uns. So, he gets big promo. Nothing new there, just business taking a hand in the marketing of the good 'ol game, that's all.

Best to the Wings tomorrow night, hopefully the Pittsburgh goalie calms down, stops the junk so that Wings forwards can show their skills at popping in some nifty goals to shut the critics.

Couple of notes.

- First period goes to Detroit all the way. Pure domination on our part.

- Second period... well, let's not let that happen again. Ever. But props to the Pens for clogging up the middle so well.

- Hossa is smelling and seeing blood. It's almost as if he's saved up all of his energy for this series.

- Helm's ability to hold every Penguins skater in their own zone when they have the puck amazes me.

- Zetterberg is turning it up another notch and completely ousting Crosby.

- Fleury's butt is now responsible for two of our goals.

- Ozzie is exceptional at reading our boards.. though his puck movement seemed a bit iffy at times. Still love the guy, though - he showed up huge. (And hey, isn't that part of home ice advantage? Knowing your boards?)

All in all, if we play the game the way we did in the first and third for the rest of this series, we have this in the bag. I'm incredibly confident in this team.. and they proved to me why tonight.

Dan Bylsma seems like a real classy coach, nice to hear for once.

Yeah, it's refreshing to see an opposing team's coach that doesn't cry. That's bad for the photoshop thread, but I think Penguins give us enough material for that anyhow

Only have a few mins but all I can say is wow did the Wings show up. The first period was the only period the Pens were really a threat. Abdelkader's goal was absolutely beautiful, the Wings defense was on it, and Bylsma's line game with Crosby vs. Z was nothing short of fail. Great job boys! I won't be around for the next game or two thanks to my internet provider being a ****** (posting from a friend's house on my laptop) but rest assured I'll be watching.

The first goal on Fleury didn't remind anyone else of last cup finals with the sitting on the puck and knocking it back into his own net or the botch own goal off O'Sullivan in the WJC? Hah.

SO who thinks Crosby is going to whine about something? Any takers?

- Faceoffs

- Missed Calls

- Boards

- Detroit

- etc

:D

I think he's going to have nightmares about Zetterburg and Maltby tonight...possibly even Ty.

He may say something about Zetterberg covering the puck on Ozzie's back with his glove - but that was legit. I was surprised Z got away with that.

Listening to Bylsma is light years better than listening to Therrien.

Agreed. He doesn't whine, which I can respect. He wouldn't even blame the boards. It was more like, "The Wings played off the boards better than us, simple as that."
