TheOwl 77 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 ^ After these mediocre play-offs by the passenger Hossa, why would you take him over Stuart. Don't you think that 6 million could be much better spent on a guy who can actually score?

flip 5 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 ^ After these mediocre play-offs by the passenger Hossa, why would you take him over Stuart. Don't you think that 6 million could be much better spent on a guy who can actually score? Great point. That bum only scored 40 goals in the regular season. I've seen you rail against Hossa on more than one occasion. Did he not sign your puck one night or something? Grow up.
Booster313 138 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Don't take it personal on this board it's what have you done for me lately. That doesn't mean I think we should get rid of Stu (or anyone else for that matter) to keep Hossa. I love Hossa but it's a tough decision and one I am glad I don't have to make. flip 5 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 Don't take it personal on this board it's what have you done for me lately. He's not even playing poorly. He's doing everything but scoring and the Wings are winning. Babcock said the exact same thing.
Booster313 138 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 I agree, Hossa has played really well most nights, there were a couple where he looked really slow but I think like a lot of Wings he has an injury he is playing through.
Lidstrom for life 20 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 We will definately have to trade/release a defenseman because even if Cheli is gone we will have 8 and even if we don't resign Hossa I dont think we can keep 8 defenseman. It sucks but either Hossa, Rafalski, Kronwall or Stuart won't be on this team next year.

10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) i dont think conklin will be back for only 750k next year either. joshy207 156 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 Don't forget, the roster needs 22 players. There are 23 roster spots, but not all have to be filled. I don't think the Wings will be able to carry more than 21 players (with everyone healthy) next year. They may even have to go with 20 just to fit under the cap. And you have HAL GILL on the Wings' roster?? For $1.5m? One, he'll get a better offer elsewhere because of his size. Two, he is the exact opposite of the Wings' system...he's slow, can't handle the puck, and his defense is primarily based on hitting the puck carrier (or someone else) rather than blocking lanes and preventing shots. Guerin and Gill will stay in Pittsburgh, probably for more than you listed them for here. Look for Samuelsson to come back instead of Guerin.
MississippiWing 14 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 actually on my roster I had Rafi retiring. I just kinda get the sense that if we win it all this year, this may be his last go around. I mean what else is there to do for him. He's at the peak of his game. He's still got it but occasionally his age shows a little. I mean what does he have to look forward to hanging around until everyone on this board starts bitching at him about missing assignments because he's "lost a step"
