Namingway 146 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 Well since we have the longest two days wait of perhaps this year or maybe the longest two days wait that we'll remember for a long time to come and I'm tired about reading threads bashing on Hossa's underachieving and posts about how the Wings deserve to lose the series, I just thought why not post something different. Last year I kinda started this little tradition I did with a few others, kind of like a New Year's resolution but with the Stanley Cup. My resolution last year was that if the Wings won the cup then I'd stop being a lazyass and start working out and being active like I used to be. I am currently in the best shape I've been in since who knows when so it kinda worked out for me This year, if the Wings win the cup I will quit smoking. That's right, all you smokers out there know how tough it can be! I've quit a bunch of times on many occasions but I occasionally smoke some every now and then. I haven't bought a pack in a couple months actually but I am going to go buy a pack right now because these two days are too much for me and hopefully it'll be the last one I'll ever buy. ... if the Wings don't win it then I'm going to buy 50 packs and smoke them all this weekend and blame my lung cancer on the Wings also Bettman, NBC, Crosby, Malkin and the rest of the Pens. All kidding aside, it's a good way to try bettering ourselves IMO What's your Stanley Cup's resolution?
Spinner 6 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 I was ready to quit smoking last night, all psyched up for it. I guess a few more days won't matter after 30 years. It won't be easy tho since there's a smoker in the house that isn't planning on quitting. Go Wings!!!
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 I did the whole quitting smoking thing after the 2002 Cup. It actually held for a while too (didn't quit for good until after the Sox won the Series in '04, though). Mine this year? I'm shaving my head if the Wings win the Cup. crotty99 302 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 If the wings win the cup this year I will be buying a few new jerseys with 09 patches. Big money to get them sent over here so will only do it for big occasions
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) No way on this earth I will quit smoking. Winners never quit; quitters never win. I do have a resolution, however. Yes, I am desperate for the Wings to win. If the Wings win on Friday, I will cut my hair and give it to charity. I will cut it to the neck. Here's a pic of it now. Sorry for the poor quality, but I was using 2 mirrors to take a pic of myself. Yeah, it's down to my butt. If the Wings win, it goes. And I'll post a pic. Serious. Wing Whiner 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 If the Wings win, I resolve to go a year without mentioning Pierre McGuirre in a sentance that includes the words, "die, shutup, you suck, shutup, idot, turtle."
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 So either way the hair goes and in one instance it goes to charity, the other the trash? No, I goofed the first time I posted. That's why there's an edit. If the Wings win, it gets cut off and goes to charity. If they lose, it stays on my head. Sorry about that. I just got done watching the tape of last night's game and I'm still a bit upset, although impressed with Scuderi.
ChitownWingsfan 54 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 If the Wings win the cup, I will finally buy the Hank jersey and make a committment to make it back to the JLA for at least 1 regular season game next season.
