crazy13 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 Maxim Afinogenov - 1.75 million - top six forward Chris Neil - 1.5 million - enforcer/toughness Mike Sillinger(former red wing draft pick and never has won a cup is 37 years old) - .750million - win one for him like dallas drake Ales Kotalik - 2 million - top six forward equal about 6 million make a few trade like lilja, hudler and trade hossa rights for some draft picks so would you rather have depth or hossa? BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 4 really good choices, and yes, even the "underachieving" Afinogenov... I always loved this guys play, and all he needs is a new atmosphere.
jjd06e 10 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 (edited) give me Hossa + roster spots for Helm and Leino and you are low balling those estimated salary's IMO, especially Kotalik Edited June 19, 2009 by jjd06e
BlakKy 58 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 Maxim was always a favourite of mine. I gotta say though I'm in the Hossa camp.
xBrave_Heartx 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 Maxim- I wouldn't mind it, I love his wheels and skills. Maybe being on a team where he doesn't have the pressure on him to succeed, he could flourish. Thats also wishful thinking. I wouldn't mind it, but i dont see it. Neil- I would love it, But realistically, There will be a team who is willing to over pay for what he 'could' be and not what he 'is' Sillinger - Seriously? no. Kotalik - Another soft oversized euro.. -- I'd like to add a name or two. Blair Betts? Talk about him at the Deadline. Steve Begin? Ruggid, Dece skillset. Matt Pettinger? had a good season 2 years ago, last year was a downer. Mike Rupp? 3rd liner, 4th liner. Drops the gloves, good skill set, great size.
FedorovMan91 1 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 Kotalik- too weak, doesn't matter the player is euro or whatever.. Neil- I love this guy but other teams that need to add the physical apperance must pay a lot for him over us Maxim- It would be sweet if he is on our team but don't expect it would be huge Silinger- please no.......... RusDRW 155 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 Datsyuk and Afinogenov have great chemistry together.............just saying. where did you get it from? Watching Max sometimes I feel he has no chemistry with his own stick and feet.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted June 20, 2009 Maxim Afinogenov - 1.75 million - top six forward Chris Neil - 1.5 million - enforcer/toughness Mike Sillinger(former red wing draft pick and never has won a cup is 37 years old) - .750million - win one for him like dallas drake Ales Kotalik - 2 million - top six forward equal about 6 million make a few trade like lilja, hudler and trade hossa rights for some draft picks so would you rather have depth or hossa? Neil will not go for $1.5. Sillinger? Not every player who has never won a Cup will be highly motivated. And must people continue to repeat the FACT that Dallas Drake may have contributed but was not, in fact, the utter vital piece that won the team the Cup? Afinogenov? Yeesh. This guy is a lazy underachiever; further, he ranks somewhere behind even Sheldon Souray in defensive effectiveness. Kotalik? He scores 20 a year, sure. 30-40 points. How's that better than Samuelsson, who is half as expensive, has been playing with the team for four seasons, and over whom Kotalik doesn't bring anything enormous? Snazzy 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 I doubt we'll see any big changes this year other than AHL players will be moved up.
RedFX 48 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 A couple more names out there. Word is that Nashville could be letting go of either Joel Ward or Vern Fiddler. Neither are threatening scorers, but both are high-energy, grinding players that would add some physical presence to the Wings. Both could go for cheap. While Hudler has no size in his small amount of pp and ice time he does put up points
Zetts 236 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 I'd probably take Sillinger. Possibly Neil, depending on our cap situation. No to Kotalik and a screaming no to Afinogenov. I'd rather have Robert Lang playing every forward position than see Afinogenov in the winged wheel.
