HawksFan4Life 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Didn't even know he was a free agent. And as good as you guys are, the Chicago Blackhawks may have something to say about that, Pat. I think the Hawks will be a 3rd round team at least, if not more...

LeftWinger 5,154 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 nice! First Hal Gill, now Scuderi! Pens are getting weaker too! Orpik is gonna have his hands full of Lappy & Pronger this season! Oh wait, they have God on that team....

I think the Hawks will be a 3rd round team at least, if not more... You got Hossa, but lost Havlat. I'll call that a wash. You got Kopecky. That's a negative. You have young rising stars, but got rid of the wrong goalie. Crystal-Ball Huet is no starting goalie -- he had one decent year & has been riding the wave ever since. If nothing else, Huet will be the reason you will have difficulty reaching the conference finals. Back to the OP. Gratz to the Kings for picking up Scuderi. ~ Z Edited July 2, 2009 by WingsCaptain
LeftWinger 5,154 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 I know some of you think we're chop liver, but we're not going down without a fight. For the record, I don't think the Hawks are chop liver, next year when they got to dump salary, and lose some FA's then you'll be chop liver. Also for the record, this is a thread about Rob Scuderi, not the Blackhawks

I wanted Marty to stay, but now that I think about it, we are getting a better player, and someone less injury prone. I understand that Kopecky hit for you guys. That's a plus in my eyes. Huet won me over in game 5, as I have stressed before.

Huet won me over in game 5, as I have stressed before. Please start a new thread and entertain us with your thoughts on how Kopecky is a plus in any way, shape, or form. He's a turd, and one that cannot be polished. He owes the Wings for making him look better than he actually is by playing him at all. As for Huet, winning one game on LOTS of rest doesn't qualify for anything. Let me know when he actually wins a playoff series. Chicago has a lot of positives ... Huet ain't one of them. ~ Z Edited July 2, 2009 by WingsCaptain
HawksFan4Life 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Doughty and Scuderi on the same line? Would be interesting. Hard to fit Doughty into a Calder nomination this past year, but he had a promising first year. Edited July 2, 2009 by HawksFan4Life

All I said it that the Hawks may have something to say about that. That's all. You're a bit slow aren't you? The LA Kings play in the Western Conference. Two teams from the west can't meet eachother in the SCF. Therefore, if the Wings make it to the finals again, we won't have to worry about Scuderi making kick-saves and making us lose the game. Guest Shoreline Report post Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Not as much as a Pronger elbow to Cindy's noggin I think the Philly/Pit battle will become more interesting for sure. I can see why LA picked him up. They probably see him as the next "Red Wing killer" like Drury. Might be a bit premature, but in normal context it means clutch player. Kings definitely need guys with that kind of a killer instinct. Edited July 2, 2009 by Shoreline
Pucks 66 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Not going to find too many Wings fans crying over the loss of Kopecky... Not going to cry, but he was our top hitter before being injured the last 2 seasons. Now he's going to be throwing his reckless body into the wings 6 games plus playoffs per season. Don't get me wrong I think he's overpaid but not by much and it's only for 2 years. Edited July 2, 2009 by Pucks

HawksFan4Life 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 As for Kopecky, if there was a time machine, I'd have like to have prevented this and go after the likes of a Beauchemin or get Wiz back myself. As for Scuderi, he definitely gave me playoff memories. Watching Crosby vs Ovechkin was probably the best series I had ever seen, and him robbing Ovie of a goal was just nasty.
