Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Do they have what it takes to win games, or will they just be a PP-giving machine. This is a big gamble for the organization having so many "goons" on one team.
uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Theyre going to be so amazingly fun to watch next season. Theyre going to have 100+ fights next season easily.
skacore 2 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 they are ******* awesome can't wait for the season to start... Flyers vs. Leafs is like a pay per view event...gotta watch that one with the broskis
Opie 308 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 They will make the playoffs and are not Bullies 2.0 but I voted bullies 2.0 because they will make the playoffs. The will be a very entertaining and good team, they may be brutes but they do have some skill there as well.

ManLuv4Clears 7 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Where's the god damn protein Mom!?!?!?! I voted BSB's 2.0. I might have to pick up the NHL network this year to see these guys play.
Guest micah Report post Posted July 9, 2009 The Flyers will be a very good team. The flyers will not win the Cup. The Flyers are good for the league, and we should all sallute Philly management for icing a lineup that will be more interesting than MLS or the WNBA. Anything that gets people watching is a good thing.
Swayze 81 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 It worked for Anaheim Anaheim had a great goalie though, I seriously doubt Emery's gonna be that good.
NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 He has the potential to play very well; he did in Ottawa's cup run. It's more his attitude, but maybe 'character guys' like Pronger and Laperrière can get him on the right track. In any case, I couldn't care less how he plays, I just want to see him fight. I'll never forget when he took on Andrew Peters. In any case, teams that face Philly and Toronto (assuming they make the playoffs, not a given in the Leafs case) in the postseason will sure pay a price to get through them. Also, why is Toronto called the Maple Leafs? Surely they should be the Maple Leaves...

Anything that gets people watching is a good thing. That's okay, every lineup in the NHL is more interesting than MLS or the WNBA. Philly is just more and more interesting. irishtemper14+25 11 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 oh man I forgot they added Emery I'm so glad next year will have some goalie fights with emery back in the league... Carcillo, Pronger and Emery are all some pretty good heavyweights
Zion 93 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Let's hope they play the Wings in Detroit.
xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 They'll be entertaining. Lots of fights, they may even injure Crosby or Malkin, but they won't win the Cup. Emery will make sure of that.
Swayze 81 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Let's hope they play the Wings in Detroit. That might only happen if they play Detroit twice this year, because this last season they played us here, so it's probably our turn to go to philly.
Torless 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Let's hope they play the Wings in Detroit. Well according to Mlive.com - we get to see the preseason version of the matchup in Detroit Sept 16th
Yak19 303 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 As much as i hate Pronger now that he is a Flyer im going to enjoy watching him pulverize Criesby's tender a$$ with his throbbing manhood, 6 games a year and possibly playoffs.
j.hoop 64 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 (edited) they will probably make the playoffs, but im going with a first round exit again. brute force didnt work for them last, wont work this year either. they have skilled players but they disappeared in the playoffs, jeff carter anyone? their 3rd and 4th line did most of the work. eventually teams will just take the punishment, along with a nice string of PPs. the penguins dismantled them by playing with alot of discipline. emery sucks and will probably get at least one suspension. laperriere hardly scores, what was he brought in for? to replace knuble?? yeah right. and one all star defenseman (pronger) will not make up for the other 4s inability, timonen can hold his own but thats about it. and to everyone putting broad street bullies 2.0, please give your reasoning. you cannot play like that anymore without getting punished. Yak19 303 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Nittymaki should be the starter, Emery backup and Biron should be gone.

j.hoop 64 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Malkin seemed to avoid detection for his late game indescretions...Do you think there's a chance that other players will go unoticed as well thats not even an issue they have reputation, and whether you like it or not, that will play into it. cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 From TSN: The Philadelphia Flyers named John Paddock assistant general manager after the 55-year-old spent the 2008-09 season as coach of the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. Don't worry, he was in the organization before the signing of Emery. I don't think they will be the "second coming", but they won't be "marginal" either. Mr. Campbell might be even busier than usual.
