Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 I'd rather have Ward than Lebda or Meech, but that is just me... I don't know if you'll find anybody that'll rather have Lebda AND Meech over Ward to be honest.
cjm502 165 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 I'd rather have Ward than Lebda or Meech, but that is just me... Any day. Meech needs to be let go of, but Lebda plays smart. He doesnt often make a poor play, his points dont give him justice.
LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Its just too bad he was Bowman's whipping boy here, I don't understand why either. I wish the Wings would re-aquire him someday, of after this stint in Carolina, he may retire. Gotta love a Wolverine!
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Good move for Carolina. That team consistently surprises me in that they seem to be pretty good at putting together solid teams without a big hoopla...

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 I really like what Jimmy Rutherford has done this off season. Re-signs Larose, Cole and Ruutu and Jokinen, adds two good character guys in Kostopolous and Alberts and now brings Ward back for a winger who hasnt been effective since Darcy Tucker beat him up. Dont know what Bostons doing, must have a trade brewing.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Me thinks the Bruins freed-up just enough cap space so Kaberle can be added...In the past Kessel had been rumored to be heading to T.O. Possibly, but it seems a tad strange that Burkie would come out yesterday saying Kaberle would be on the opening day roster, and then turn around and deal him, but again, it is Burke. LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Here's a question, would you rather have Ward or Stuart? They are pretty much the same players, yet Ward makes less. BTW, he is a UFA next year, wonder if there would be any inerest either way considering Lidstrom, Lilja & Lebda all being UFA's as well? Problem is, Ward is better than a third line paring.... P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 (...) Lebda plays smart. He doesnt often make a poor play, his points dont give him justice. He was great against Chicago in the playoffs when they played without Lidström, Ericsson and Lilja. Lebda got more ES minutes than any other that game. He's perfect for a 6-7th defenseman. Still many people in this silly place wants to trade him. You don't have to trade good players just because your buttocks are itching. I'm glad Holland isn't crazy like that.
