As much as I think it's ridiculous the fans jealousy over Crosby, I sat there laughing at the post above for a few minutes.

hey he's still only a kid.He won't be doing that in a few years. It's no reason to truly hate him like some of you do. There are some here that is reasonable about this but not a lot. Hating doesn't do you any good no matter how you look at it. I would like to see the maturity some of you guys had at Sid's age.,I dare say not even half of what he has. You prove this every time you talk about him. He earned it just about as much as any other captain ever did and then some.

You can think of at least 29 other players you would rather have,WHAT ?

Sid is older than me and I can promise my maturity level is higher than him. Anyway, the unrivaled hatred for Crosby has become a part of his identity, whether you as a Pens' fan can deal with that or not. He has been forced down the throats of every single nhl fan while being chased with delusional comparisons to Gretzky and being the best player in the world. After not being able to live up to the impossible standards set by Bettman, the nhl fanbase became somewhat disgusted in having to endure what the media made him out to be, thus making an excuse to hate him that much more easy. Unfortunately Crosby doesn't do himself too many favors in his attempt to convert to a league-wide favorite, possibly due to the hilarious and regular diving schemes and becoming the number 1 enemy of fan favorite Ovechkin, or the arrogance and lack of respect he has towards just about anyone not on his team.

Is a lot of the hatred unwarranted? Definitely. But lets not get too proud, either, because Crosby is far from mature, and its exactly how he's handling everything which gives everyone a valid excuse to hate him.

Yup, people hate Crosby typically for two reasons:

1) The non-stop NHL coverage as he gets jammed down our throats and

2) Earlier in his career (but not so much now) he dove, a lot.

Crosby is a great hockey player with a lot of potential and a Stanley Cup ring. He's no Gretzky and no Yzerman. Not to say that he doesn't have potential, but you can't write the story of his career when the kid can't even grow a beard or mustache yet.

meaning at least one player from every other team than Pitts and excluding Detroit. (for the record, I couldn't find someone off Dallas, I'd choose Crosby over any of those guys...)

Anaheim - Ryan Getzlaf

Atlanta -Ilya Kovalchuk

Boston - Tim Thomas

Buffalo - Ryan Miller

Calgary - Jerome Iginlia

Carolina - Eric Staal

Chicago - Toews or Kane

Colorado - Paul Stastny

Columbus - Rick Nash

Dallas - None

Edmonton - Sam Gagner

Florida - David Booth

Los Angeles - Alexander Frolov

Minnesota - Niklas Backstrom

Montreal - Brian Gionta

Nashville - Shea Weber

New Jersey - Zach Parise

NY Isles - Unproven but John Tavares

NY Rangers - Marion Gaborik

Ottawa - Heatley or Alfredsson

Philadelphia - Simone Gagne or (like him or not) Chris Pronger

Phoenix - (without a doubt) Shane Doan

San Jose- Milan Michalek

St. Louis - David Backes or TJ Oshie

Tampa - Victor Hedman or Martin St. Louis or Lacavalier

Toronto - Mike Komisarek

Vancouver - either of the Sedins

Washington - Alexander Ovechkin

so not only 29, but how about 34 other players I'd rather have than Crosby, and i didn't even count your crappy team. IF I had to count your team I would most definately take Staal over Crosby. Crosby may be talented, but he is BY FAR NOT the best player in the League... Much less the world!

Yup, people hate Crosby typically for three/b] reasons:

1) The non-stop NHL coverage as he gets jammed down our throats and

2) Earlier in his career (but not so much now) he dove, a lot.

3) He came into the league from the beginning yapping and bitching at calls like a seasoned veteran. I think a lot of people, players included, felt he needed to earn his stripes before he started mouthing off like he did.

Pretty much sums it up.
