Will Hank and Pav play on the same line next season?

One argument - Babs wouldnt even play them together last year, with all of that forward depth.

Another - Helm gives us a solid third center, Flips emerged as a solid second line center, so...why not?

They will some games and they won't other games. Same story ever since they've emerged as the faces of the franchise. The only real question is whether or not they'll be on the same line for the playoffs, which I'm hoping yes.

Hossa didn't fit in, in retrospect, so I think having Fil center the second line might be better for chemistry. So I think sometimes we will, sometimes we won't.

I think we'll see more of Z/D on the top line and Mule/Cleary/Fil on the second line than anything else, but it'll be switched up now and again.

The wild card I think will be Leino if he starts scoring like he did before. He may force Babcock to put him onto one of the top two lines. Same if Homer plays like s***. He does a lot of things stat sheets don't keep records on, I know, but that can only hold up so long. I could see Cleary playing with Z/D while Leino goes to the second line sometimes and if it works out, he stays.

I think the Filpulla-Franzen combo proved it can be effective during the playoffs. I think as long as that combo continues to work, that would enable Dats and Z to be reunited.

NO!!! We will finally see the emergence of Filppula as a goal scorer. Leino will be exciting to watch.... You can pair any of these guys with either Pav or Z and Pav and Z will make these other players better. Spread the wealth....

During the season it probably wouldn't matter too much anyway. During the playoffs I'd say Babs will play them together on home ice, and seperate on the road when their opponents have the last change, just to increase the ice time of having Pav and Hank out there while the opponents play their top 2 lines.

I think they will for the majority of the season. Hossa messed up the flow a bit, but we still did well splitting them up. I agree marcaractac they will split em up on tougher away games. I really think Mule/Filp/Cleary will be a great line this year.

Im a big proponent of having them together. However, I didnt mind splitting them against Pittsburgh. Its good to put one on Malkin and one on Crosby, which worked in the SCFs. It wasnt Malkin or Crosby that beat us.

I seriously went full circle this past year. It was interesting.

First I thought, keep them together.

Then I saw how effective they were apart and thought the results were good.

Then I felt something was lacking within the Pav-Hossa pairing.

Then I saw goals such as the one against PHX this past year and thought they should never be split apart.

Then I observed them together on the PP and saw that Pav got less time with the puck and thought they should be split up during the PP but together 5-on-5.

And now I'm back to just keep them together.
