Not sure this is in the right spot -- I think it is though. Nothing Red Wings' related in here, but found the interview with Shawn Horcoff interesting. He's pissed that the Oilers tried to trade for Heatley, and equally pissed that Heatley didn't want to come.

Bryan Murray shot himself in the foot. I blame him more than Heatley for the whole debacle.

As bad as it looks you can't blame a player for not liking the role he has been given. Why would a star player with an NTC stay on a team that he has had problems with in the past when he could be having more fun on a different team? I also don't blame Heatley for not wanting to go to Edmonton. That franchise is a joke and the city is depressing.

Bryan Murray might be a dumbass but if I'm getting $45 million/6 years, and I have the chutzpah to request a trade a year after requesting a NTC in my contract, I probably take the first NHL community that takes my goofy, gap-toothed face.

What the Sens should do if nothing else works out is hide him in Binghamton for the year so that his ridiculous salary is off the cap. He wants ice time, he can have it there. He would have been a God in Edmonton.

Actually, Spezza just said that Heatley just has to do what is right for him, and if that means he wants out of Ottawa, they should trade him. He didn't say get rid of him.

Anyway, Heatley has been a disappointment in Ottawa, I think... perhaps it's best if he moves on.

As for Murray shooting off his mouth and shooting himself in the foot -- it certainly wouldn't be the first time for that.

What's the maximum you'd give up to get Heatley? Personally I think he's a great player, and I'd give up...

Williams, Bertuzzi, Lebda, Maltby, Meech, and an 8th round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft for him...

Just kidding, I wouldn't want that one dimensional whiny piece of s*** in the Wings uniform. Hell the guy snipes better than anyone, but he'd be a plague to not only the Wings, but any team. I used to like him, but I think any player who demands a trade is a high maintenance *******. Is the reason personal? Does he consistently get picked on by numerous players on the team? Not that I've heard of... I hope he ends up in the KHL.

The one thing Heatley keeps repeating is that the reason he turned down Edmonton is that they WERE THE ONLY TEAM WHO WANTED HIM. What? Really...so I think he was hoping for some kind of a bidding war to make himself seem really wanted, and it didn't come....and the "ugly girl" asked him to dance and he said...."um....naww....I don't think so..."
