Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted September 4, 2009 If Lilja plays then I pick him, otherwise I don't really see any of those guys getting more than 2 fighting majors.

ManLuv4Clears 7 Report post Posted September 4, 2009 Got to go with Big E, I never get tired of that video of him whipping on the Fairy. I think fm's as a whole will be a little higher for the Wings this year. With Big Rig in full time and adding Bert I could see the team taking a little less s***. There is something about having a full time guy that is willing to drop them if necessary (even if it's only 2 or 3 times a year) that makes the team tougher as a whole. I remember Flip dishing it out one game last year when Downey was in the line-up. At any rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see Stuart, Cleary, or Eaves pick up a fm or two. Guest micah Report post Posted September 4, 2009 Ericsson should lead the Wings, maybe even the whole league, with 4 FMs this year.
Guest micah Report post Posted September 4, 2009 Micah's awesome 2009 Red Wings fighting major predictions. Bertuzzi: 3 fights. None impressive, no blood drawn by either party, no KO or TKO. Ericsson: 4 fights. 1 good one. Eaves: 2 fights. Zzzzzz. Stuart: 2 fights. Entertaining bouts both. Lilja: 0 fights. Abdelkader: 5 AHL, 1 NHL Cleary: 1 fight. Datsyuk: 0 fights Franzen: 1 fighting major. He will end up in one against his will, gloves dropped, cowering in terror as he gets punched in the back of the head. Maltby: 1 fighting major. He tangles up with someone behind the net, they hug, shake off the gloves, and fall down. Should have been a 2 minute delay of game instead of a fight. Helm and Williams will each pick up 1 FM too. xBrave_Heartx 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2009 Ericsson.. Only guy that will play enough games to get enough fighting majors. Tuzzi isn't a fighter, Abdelkader wont play enough. Nobody else has a chance.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted September 4, 2009 Does getting jumped and destroyed (kind of like Franzen against Walker and Datsyuk against Niedermayer) count as a fight? If so, the whole team will have 7 or 8 fighting majors. If not, it'll be about 2 or 3.

If so, the whole team will have 7 or 8 fighting majors. If not, it'll be about 2 or 3. I think any FM counts. Instances like the one where Franzen elected to rejoin a scrum and get one-punched by Vandermeer wouldn't be counted.

If so, the whole team will have 7 or 8 fighting majors. If not, it'll be about 2 or 3. I don't know it depends if you will eventually drop em and defend yourself like Cleary did with Newbury a couple years ago then yeah, but if you do like what Datsyuk did against Niedermayer, Franzen did against Walker, O'Donnell, Vandermeer, or like Zetterberg against Malkin, or like Rafalski against Perry or Hossa vs. Getzlaf or even like Stuart did with Backes last year, or like when Lilja turtled to Denis Gauthier couple years back, or Helm turtling to Kunitz if you choose to do it like that then no that shouldn't count.
