GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Homer should have just ran into Toskala, as is his habit. I wonder if Jake Ryan was watching?
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 I'll enjoy bringing this up when you're wrong. Also: Soft goal. Besides, back then ninety-sux was still good.
Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Hey poopypants, Holmstrm has great hands and his scored on a shootout before. He made nice dekes, but missed the net. His try was better than Franzn's. I agree. If Oz hadn't let that last one in to tie it, we wouldn't have had to go to a shoot out. Typical Oz
Carman 387 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Not a bad game. You can tell the Wing's are coasting waiting for the regular season to start. Also that was an amazing move by Holmstrom, he doesn't even need to touch the puck to stick handle. Simply amazing.
RusDRW 155 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Am I the only one who actually liked that Holmstrom move? Compared to Dats and Clearly's attempts Toskala was completely frozen by those moves and Holm just missed a bit.

Yak19 303 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Pretty sure Babcock just trolled Detroit putting Homer in there. Made me laugh; 10/10, Mike. LOL, i could see Babs on LGW, just looking for our whipping boys to put out in key situations.
Snazzy 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Started off as a snooze fest but ended with an exciting bang. I thought Holmers shootout was fine... I've seen Hossa do worse. But I was hoping to see Flip get a chance. Cleary is clutch. I read posters in this thread trying to say Cleary isn't clutch... obviously those people are new to hockey. Cleary is a guy I always want to see on the ice in key situations like tonight. The man is pure determination. Wings did really good with a 5th line instead of a 2nd line. Clearly the regulars aren't taking the preseason serious. I do however wish the prospects would try to prove their worth a bit more. May appears he should be on a 4th line in the NHL somewhere, but not in Detroit. Hope somebody picks him up... tonight was the best game of the preseason so far. Zion 93 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Leafs TV wasn't bad at all, actually. I must be so used to lousy Central Division broadcasts that if I don't get Ken & Mick that I want to put my head through a wall.
