Damn, that's a long free preview.

Awesome.

That's how they get you man. I work in a casino and all the "free" stuff that you get makes you spend money. But yea that's is a nice long window of not watching bad streams lol.

Still debating on going with someone else. Between what we've discussed and the fact that my Winged Wheel was glued on to my jersey (started peeling off during a pick-up game yesterday), I am hesitant to buy ANYTHING from NHL.com.

I'll be streaming over my ps3 this year. I am sick of giving these people my money. The NHL should be on ESPN, and not Versus-heck I changed to Direct tv. Now Direct tv is refusing to show Versus. 85% on the games are on Center Ice, 10% are on Versus, and 5% are on the NHL Network. That is alot of money to shell out to see all of the games. Screw them. Most of the streams will be crap, but they are not getting my money. If 100% of the shows where on one network-then they would get my money-only then...bastards.

They better be, or else DirecTV just hates hockey. Versus is one thing, but CenterIce is completely different. They have shown it in the past on DirecTV.

Good. I'm (relatively) new to the service. I guess it wouldn't make any sense for DTV not to air it.

Thanks for the info -- might check it out as 3 weeks is nothing to sneeze at. :)

Well, you guys are lucky you even have access to Center Ice. Had it for all those years with Directv and one year with Comcast. Now, I'm with AT&T's Uverse and they don't even offer it. And if you try and get info on when they might add it, nobody knows anything or they tell you it's coming anytime. Hell, even Verizon offers it with their FIOS system. And I might seriously consider dropping Uverse and go back to either Comcast or DTV just to get it. That would be ashame because I really like Uverse. It's a fantastic system.

And Savaking72, even 85% on CI is well worth the price. Break it down to per game basis, and it's a small price to pay.

Well I just talked to Dish and they know nothing about this free preview. I'll just have to wait and see I guess.

But I did add the Sports pack for $5.95 a month and now I get NHL Network and NFL Redzone along w/ what appears to be all the FSN's. So I should be able to watch hockey games all the time now even w/o Center Ice. Since I have FSN Pitt, I can watch the Pitt games etc.

Right now I am watching the Devil's Season Preview on MSG+. Now it would have been nice to have these two MSG channels earlier so I could have watched the Wings game!!

That's usually the case.

When I've called cable providers in the past about Versus, NHL Network, NHL Center Ice, etc...none of the people I talk to EVER know anything about those services or channels. It's ridiculous how stupid they are about their NHL services.

Three weeks sounds long. In the past, it has usually been for a week, maybe 10 days at most.

When talking to the DirecTV guy, I brought up a point that not many are talking about. Comcast may be trying to jack up the price, but when advertisers start avoiding Versus because 16 million viewers have instantly disappeared, the price to get Versus back on DirecTV may drop. It's all about money. If the NHL office has any balls left (doubtful statement) then once they see low ratings dive even further, they may start looking for a new broadcast channel for future seasons. If we're lucky, perhaps they turn the screws on Comcast and tells them to get the deal done or we'll take NHL to a non-Comcast channel. That way you can keep the Tour de France and all that other quality programming.

I know, wishful thinking.

Another year without Center Ice or the NHL Network on WOW Wide Open West. If they ever dump Versus I'd have to switch Concast. Between FSN/FSN-HD, Versus & CBC I usually get enough hockey to watch during the week, but Center Ice would be even better.

This doesn't appear to apply to DirecTV, but I certainly hope I'm wrong.

It does - there is a banner ad across my screen, and it is working tonight (except my hometown team is blacked out tonight - wtf). However, we ARE blacked out from the game tomorrow in Sweden. <_< On the air 1pm for me though - not good. I am going to leave work early and catch part of it on satellite radio in my car though (hopefully it shows up there, sigh).

Well it appears as though NHL Center Ice won't be airing the two most-hyped games of the weekend (those being the ones in Sweden).

Chicago and Florida is going on right now, but Center Ice is too busy having two channels dedicated to most of the 'Upcoming' games that won't be airing until 7:00pm, or worse yet - tomorrow.

This is a travesty.
