Downey is a far better fighter than May.

And May is a MUCH better hockey player. Both ahve great attitudes. Give me the more balanced player any day of the week. I loved it when Downey was with us, but May is serving the same role with better hockey skills.

They were bluffing, hoping to convince our enemies that gooning it up against us would backfire on them, and that our powerplay was strong enough to keep the meanies at bay. It was a fine bluff and worked well enough for a time, but now that teams have caught onto the fact that our powerplay is a paper tiger, they're back to bullying our fragile weaklings. That's what they told me, anyway.

I'm sure.

No need to be upset just because your anti enforcer self has to watch a fighter play a regular shift on the wings now.

Where have I stated I'm anti-fighter?

Or is this you ignoring the post and going straight to attacking the poster again?

Come on newfy, at least try to act like you can have a civil discussion with someone.

Downey is more of a deterrant than May. May's job isnt to score goals. Hes a 4th line tough guy. His job is bang bodies, create energy and hand out the occasional beat down. Downey was great at doing that and wasn't a defensive liability whilst doing it.

Downey and May are too violent:

1. They just bust their butts every shift; obvious brown nosers to the coach. Sets the bar too high for the skill players that like to coast in the regular season.

2. May makes too little money at $500,000 to respect him. I'd rather point out his -2 at $500,000 instead of one of the star players at $7,000,000.

3. May delays the game too often. In a fight, instead of falling to the ground like Franzen when someone raises a brow at him, he tries to act macho and fight the opponent with his fists. A sickening display by a barbarian.

4. May and Downey are both from Ontario, Canada; Canadians have no business being in hockey. KHL is the future.

You've never came out and said it but almost everyother post you make is against enforcers.

Such as?

You constantly make sarcastic remarks about enforcers. Going 80-2 now that we have an enforcer was stated by you earlier in this thread, you said we should sign Mayweather...Clearly sarcastic remarks making jabs at the people who think a fihgter can help a team.

Its ok we know it sucks you might have to watch a little more violent hockey now that doesn't resemble figure skating but you'll just have to make do.

My only gripe is the amount of hatred some people here have for the team when an enforcer is not part of the roster. Calling the team patheticly soft and a bore to watch. I have no problem with an enforcer in the lineup and have stated this many times. I just DO NOT believe that an enforcer is going to be the determining factor in if the Wings get run, if the Wings have success in the regular season, and if the Wings have success in the playoffs. It is an entertaining want. Not a necessity in my opinion. My sarcastic remarks were in jest towards the "enforcer or this team is weak and wont be able to handle the post-season grind" comments, and my Mayweather comment was only satire.

See, I have never even said anything remotely close to that, and you have no evidence that I have. Too bad.
