Yup ^_^

Im hoping Helm can bring some energy to the locker room. My question is whos spot will helm be taking? Abdelkaders?

Edit: Better yet, how about we throw Helm or Abby to center the 4th line so Drapes can play LW again? Idk, just my stupid ideas...

Z - Dats - Bert

Leino - Fil - Cleary

Williams - Helm - Homer

May - Draper - Eaves

FYI, that's how the current lines would end up if Helm is back. Abby would either be a scratch (depends on if Maltby is on IR or not) or would go back to GR.

PLEASE NO! No reason to give Helm Holmstromeningitis right when he comes back.

Maltby is reportedly injured, and Helm is a center, as is Abby. Neither one is gonna take wing. Good job captain dumbass.

Dumbest thing I've ever seen on LGW.

Datsyuk = center

Zetterberg = center

Filppula = center

Helm = center

Abdelkader = center

Draper = center

Gee, I wonder how we're ever going to make 4 lines with 6 centers on the team. Franzen and Hudler were centers at the start too. I wonder how they ever got any ice time, being 5th and 6th line centers. I think you might have the "C" on team dumbass, brother.

Bring him on baby!

For those that might want him in an increased role, understand though that he's just a 3rd/4th line guy right now, to create energy etc. And he hasn't even had any regular season goals yet in 30 games or so, hasn't even played a full regular season etc. Time will tell if he's able to maintain the level of energy throughout the regular season/playoffs if he remains fully healed.

Picture Dan Cleary in his first season/two with the Wings. Didn't produce much points, was more of a defensive-type forward. Not to say that he wasn't offensively capable obviously though. Once Cleary showed he could produce more on the G/A/Pts stat sheet, his time/roles increased. If that can happen for Helm, awesome obviously, but right now he's just a 3rd/4th liner given his role to skate hard and create energy.

Not at all similar cases. Cleary was a reclamation project - a highly touted prospect and junior player who never cut it at the NHL-level, and has now turned into a versatile defensive forward who can be counted on for some scoring.

Helm doesn't have the offensive upside.

From the first blurb, obviously you're right on that, two different scenarios in terms of playing careers.

Cleary though more/less was a more defensive-minded forward during the beginning of his career here in terms of role pretty much, with Helm bieng in the same scenario more/less. Cleary has turned up the offensive switch a good bit. It'd defiintely be cool if Helm did the same. His offensive upside might be limited, but he's still young, too early to completely tell IMO.
