For all of the Sammy haters out there

With tonight's goal (his 4th), Samuelsson is now the Canucks leading goal scorer, and has 7 points in almost 7 games (as i'm writing this, the game is still on), and has a point in every game except one. With the Red Wings struggling to find consistency right now, we certainly could have stood to gain from the nightly production that Sammy is putting up in Vancouver. Maybe now some of you haters who were so glad to see him go should be reconsidering that feeling.

He's streaky, watch his numbers in a couple months.

Exactly.

I like the guy myself, but I actually think Williams is an upgrade (debatable I know).

And sometimes it's best to get some new blood in the lineup (even if it's new old blood).

Sammy + Williams are two players I've never liked. Like the above poster posted Sammy is streaky and will eventually cool off.

Why I don't like them ... well simply because they bring nothing to the table. The only thing Williams has an advantage of Sammy is his speed. Either then that Sammy > Williams.

Williams has been one of our best players thus far and is playing his ass off - I'd take Williams over Sammy any day.

yeah so what. and Homer's our leading goal scorer at the moment. BFD And if Sammy is your leading goal scorer then it shows you how bad your offense is.

Good for Sammy, I don't mind him. 5 of his 7 points have been on the PP, pretty telling. As others have said, he's very streaky, so expect his production to dry up shortly.

Lots didn't like him after he left...don't know what that's all about. I liked Sammy, he seemed like a reliable guy. Heard his name at the right time during the game. I wouldn't mind seeing him back, either.

Plenty didn't like him while he was here too during most of his time. Sadly the "hate" list is probably much lengthier than a crowded line to a movie theater or club.

Good for Samuelsson.

This is a great topic. Ever since seasons have been cut to 7 games, we get a much better view of a player's production and value.

For instance, we can infer that Vincent Lecavalier will not score a single goal this year, as through 7 games, he has none.

Mikael Samuelsson is a reserve player doing well on a struggling team.

It's all Hollands's fault.

He clearly doesn't understand that without Sammy we wouldn't have advanced so far in the playoffs the last couple of years.

I wonder if Luongo will let Sammy be the first person to touch the Cup when they win it this year?

I would've loved to have Sammy back but not at that price. A 3 year 6 million dollar deal would be nice for a player of his caliber. Vancouver overpaid just a little bit for him like we did for Stuart. I like Stuart alot because he is our most phyisical d-man but does anyone else think he could've gotten 3.75 a year from any other team? I was thinking he would be signed for a cap hit of 3.25. Holland is a genius but there are a few contracts on our team that made me scratch my head a little bit.

Stuart is a good-quality, steady, physical defenseman. He'd be top-pairing on quite a few teams out there. Such defensemen get paid quite a bit of money; his contract is very reasonable.

Maybe we should pull up this stupid thread in a few months and then see what Mr. Smart Mouth here thinks about his dumbass friend Mikael "The LogoHunter" Samuelsson.

I doubt it. Usually the A's get to touch it before the Conn Smythe winner if he has won it before.
