No Ozzy isn't the whole problem, but he is one right now.

He allowed 5 goals on 28 shots... It's a fact, not a flame, not a he sucks statement. Since this is a goalie thread, I don't give a f*** what we scored.

Ozzy was good enough tonight. Doc's assessment of the goals is pretty accurate.

He absolutely needs to play better, but in the list of reasons why they lost tonight, he wasn't near the top.

That's as unfunny as it was when you posted it in the GDT.

I'm guessing either you didn't watch the game, or don't really know much about hockey so fixate on the last guy to prevent the goal.

Sure I would've loved Ozzy to make a huge save on one of those, but all but the last one were pretty solid goals, not softies.

I repeated the stats mostly as a response to viking, not for their re-enforcement.

Had I wanted to do that I would have pointed out he faced 33 against SJ.

Meh, just once I'd like to see Osgood steal a game when the Wing's aren't looking good. But I suppose he isn't getting paid to do so, so I can't really complain. Just buying time until we hopefully hit the jack pot with one of our prospects.

yeah it really feels like we have no high end prospects aside from Tatar, compared to most other teams. But hopefully our next call up just happens to turn into something special.

First goal: Lebda f***ed him over

Second goal: terrible coverage in front and Osgood was trying to do the defenseman's job for him.

Third goal: Snipe in the right corner

Fourth goal: Tipped in front

Fifth goal: Softie

One goal was truly his fault, when the game didn't even matter. He wasn't horrid, he wasn't solid, he was sub-par. The team was also awful.

I actually watched tonight's game in it's entirety (including the listing of CA military on CBC, pregame hall of fame interviews...). Did the same for SJ (bert pissed me off all game by being in the right place then making bad passes or lame shots).

I have also stated that ozzy wasn't my only problem with the game tonight (I haven't even said he was my main problem tonight).

Maybe I'll get lucky and the next responder will realize the thread's about ozzy. Not how the team as a whole failed tonight (which they did as a whole). Not how many goals we didn't score tonight because of his wonderful play..

Actually my post shows that both Osgood and the defense didn't play well.

Obviously the GA are going to go down when both parties play well. There is no point here.

This thread was inactive since November 6th. It must have been on what... back on page 4 or 5? Interesting how you felt this urge to bump the thread after a 5-1 loss. Coincidence? No. Passive aggressive? Yes.

So it's perfectly normal for someone to bump this thread that was back on page 4 or 5 after a bad game, then claim they didn't have any ill intentions or motive to conveniently bump the thread?

I'm calling bull s***. When people act stupid, they need to be told they are stupid. This person could have showed some class and apologized and admitted they were wrong and wanted attention. Instead they wish to hide behind their PC and back peddle like some pathetic gutless coward.

He bought us a trip to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals when our team was far too injured to get there any other way. He stole many, many games in the playoffs last year. His harshest critics even in the media gave him his due for proving that he can steal games again and again in the post-season. So did the board. Hell, even Mindfly was on it.

But of course, the fickle fans forget that when the TEAM plays a s***ty game and we lose a game in November despite the fact that just about half our team is injured or sick and we just played 3 great games against teams at the top of the league in terms of the standings. We didn't play well tonight. Osgood didn't play well. Toronto did everything right and they're due to start playing better. So we got beat up pretty bad.

Oh well, it happens.

This whole whip on the goalie thing gets so old, especially with Osgood, who has proven more than just about any other goalie in the league the last few years by being the best goalie when it matters most. And still, people go on and on about how he doesn't steal a game against Toronto...in November.

That's like saying, "Yeah, I got a blowjob from Jessica Alba but I found it a bit toothy..."

I never said get rid of him or anything that negative, and my post was in regards to this season only. He is absolutely amazing in the playoffs, but right now we really could use one of his playoff performances to actually improve in the standings being 10th right now isn't a great feeling. Fair enough, like I said, it just gets old hearing it over and over, and even the panic in general. I know we're 10th. We were worst last week. But you know, I don't even remember what we were. 12th? 14th? I don't care. We're 10th now. Oh well. I still have very, very little doubt that we'll be fine down the stretch. I think it's anyone's guess as to who will take the division, though I think Chicago likely will when all is said and done. But we'll be right behind them and we'll make the playoffs at which point I think we have as good of a chance as any team. I'm cool with that. It makes it a lot easier to sweat out a slow start and these injuries. After all, we're only going to get better as the season goes on in general and once we start getting guys back, especially Franzen, it'll be like making trades for nothing.

I'm just not worried and I've really got nothing negative to say about this team. Hell, the biggest problem is Lebda and even that's barely worth talking about as it will get resolved before it really matters. Either Lilja will be back (and it's looking more likely and that's great in my opinion) or we'll make a trade to tighten things up down the line. We're in an odd place right now with all the injuries and the cap. We'll have to ride it out for awhile, but we'll be fine when it matters.
