mmamolo 287 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 He said it like 30 months ago. If anything, the rivalry is more fierce than it was then. Just because Colorado is playing well right now and have beaten the Wings twice this season doesn't mean the rivarly is alive and strong. The rivalry all but died with all the major stars of those battles being gone. Adam Foote, Tomas Holmstrom, Kris Draper, Kirk Maltby, Nicklas Lidstrom, amd Chris Osgood are the only players still with their respective teams from the hayday of the rivalry. In my opinion the rivalry all but died last season with the uninspired match ups and especially with the retirement of Joe Sakic. Bring back Valeri Kamensky, Claude Lemieux, Sandis Ozolinsh and Adam Deadmarsh and I'll believe you when you say the rivalry is alive

Carman 387 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 Why not sign Floppa, anything goes now that we have Bert, ugh. What's that supposed to mean? Bertuzzi is a great person, you are lucky to even see him play hockey. You should be paying him.
mmamolo 287 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 I never said it was alive and well. What a waste of words this was. I was implying that there was f*** all rivalry when he said it. Wow, talk about taking things too personally. Besides, take a look at what you wrote. Saying the rivalry is 'more fierce' today than it was 30 months ago implies it's going strong today. You're jsut trying to back track now. He said it like 30 months ago. If anything, the rivalry is more fierce than it was then. Saying it is fierce in your first message and now saying you never said it was alive and well is completely contradictory. I know I tend to use the word fierce when describing dead rivalries. Carman 387 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 Now that's funny, nauseating, yet funny! Actually I'm pretty serious. He is doing pretty good here, and he is a really nice guy in person. If you are judging him off one mistake then jump off that soap box, because you aren't perfect either.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 (edited) IF Forsberg goes to the NHL it will almost surely be to the Avs. The Rangers are an outsider, they've said that they are interested. Won't be the Wings or Hawks, even though I'd love to see him in the winged wheel. If nothing else it would give us two killer PP-formations. edit: btw he played for the Swedish National Team today against the Czech Republic. He looked okay, kind of what you'd expect from someone who has barely played a game in years, but showed some glimpses of the great skill he possesses. There are games Saturday and Sunday and he is expected to make some kind of decision shortly after that. Hudler played for the Czechs and looked average. The "if anything" that you conveniently left out, allows an intelligent reader to infer that my stance is that the reason argued in the post I originally quoted was invalid. I was implying that "If anything, it's more fierce than it was then." Which is probably true. Since then we did have a playoff series against each other that they're still bitter about. Even a moderately perceptive person should fairly easily be able to understand that my intent was to point out the comparatively reduced intensity of the rivalry at the time Forsberg made that quote. Anything else?

Anything else? Wow, talk about slow. I understood from the beginning that you were saying that the rivalry is stronger now than when Forsberg made his comments. Have you not read a word I wrote? Everything I have said in response to your posts was based on the fact I understood you meant the rivalry is stronger now than it was when the Forsberg comment was made. Do you have any idea how stupid you sound when you look down your nose at ppl and try to come across all smart when in fact you're the one not understanding what is happening? Trust me, my comprehension is just fine I'll take your word for it, but I would expect a 13 year old child of average intelligent to comprehend that I was only questioning the reasoning of the originally quoted post. I had no intention of discussing current rivalries. You went off on a tangeant with that because the purpose of my post went over your head. I don't see how it's my fault remedial English class was too much for you.

Now you're grasping at insults because you have nothing left to say for your side of the argument. You can try and convince ppl who are reading this thread that I didn't understand your original post all you want but based on my posts it's obvious not only did I know what was going on but I was also proving your ignorance. Either way, it's no big deal bud. You should take it easy and not take things so personally. I just happened to disagree with your post. You're a big boy, apparently, so hopefully you get over it. Guest ZetterbergFourty Report post Posted November 6, 2009 Huet. Ah yes, forgot about their goaltending issue. Still would make a deadly offensive stride, might even be enough without the goalie even being a factor. Hossa Forsberg Kane Toews Sharp Versteeg etc. Not too bad of a blueline either. They did make it to the Confrence Finals last year. I dont like Chicago, so I'm gonna stop talking them up, but they have one hell of a team.
