Minor League Hockey Coach Has a Tantrum

Good for that coach. His players were getting the s*** beat out of them and were getting housed by the refs. One kid needed 18 stitches from a slash behind the leg and no call was issued. Just protecting his players. Not to mention his team came back and won the game. Good coaching imo.

ha i've seen a coach act like that before, his team wasnt listening to him and lost 9-2. it was in 2006, motor city mechanics vs k-zoo wings. the coach was danton cole. it was pretty funny.

sticks a flying, backup goalie helmet, profanity, you name it..he was pissed. though so would i, the mechanics werent even trying.

Darn it, we were thinking of going to that game and decided against the drive. Gotta show some love to the IceFlyers this year for trying to make a go of it after the IcePilots folded.

It's hilarious watching the team's responses to the coach. They are all like wtf is going on?

Meh, he's a minor league coach acting like a minor league coach. Remember when Joe Kocur was a member of the coaching staff of "classy" some NHL team and he threw a chair on the ice? Now that was embarassing.

I wonder if this guy will be getting a job in the NHL anytime soon. LOL!

Seriously though, I had a coach with a nasty temper like that when I was a squirt. He was a truck driver for Wal-mart and owned a Harley. I think he coached us drunk a few times. Really nice guy if you were on his good side, but very scary when pissed. One time he almost got in a fist fight with another team's coach at a tournament we played in.

Oddly enough when the Louisiana IceGators were in the ECHL they were my favorite team. The arena was about 50 miles away from where I lived. However the team wasn't around until after I moved up here. I have an IceGators jersey from when they were an ECHL Team. Go Gators. I remember when Rich Kromm did that when he was coaching the Muskegon Fury at the time.

Hilarious. I like how the Goalie grabbed whatever was remaining and hid it in his glove so the Coach didn't toss that onto the ice too. Makes me wonder what it was!

The ECHL IceGators were pretty notorious for both winning a lot and for what turned out to be massive salary cap violation issues. When they actually honestly adhered to the cap, they slid to mediocre, and people stopped coming out to watch.

I also miss the old New Orleans Brass, who were a casualty of the Hornets taking over their arena. The Brass would have had to bear most of the cost of converting the floor from ice to wood and back, and they would have also been stuck with the NBA team's sloppy seconds in terms of dates. The Brass had some awesome and dedicated fans.

Yeah you're right the Brass were a great Louisiana Hockey Team. I followed them just as much as all the other Louisiana teams in the ECHL and the old Western Pro Hockey League now the CHL. I really wish there were still like 7 teams in Louisiana it was a lot of fun listening to their games. Now there's only 2 Teams. That I know of for sure.
