Duckies are coming off a shootout loss, and will likely be a bit tired from playing back2back nights. However, I'm sure they still have the bitter taste of defeat lingering and they will come out swinging. It should be a good game.

If Howie keeps up his play and our defense shuts down the ducks top line, then we got this one in the bag. I'm also expecting a duel between Parros and May...

Wings 3 - Kronwall, Datsyuk, Z with the empty netter

Ducks 1 - Corey "The Ferry" Perry

18-1 wings win. ducks are sucking right now.

As much as I'd love to see this, it's not gonna happen.

Same thing with Miller scoring two goals in a night. You'll see two goals out of guys like Helm, Draper, Abdelkader, Kronwall, Z, Dats, Homer, etc first.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is a good addition (from what we saw last night), but he's not a goal scorer.

 While you're right that he's not a goal scorer he's got better hands than a guy like Helm. He's more of an Eaves type of guy without the shot.

Edit: to be fair his hands aren't much better than Helms... Actually it's a bit of a wash between the two, I'm just saying that it's silly to suggest Helm's more likely to score.

Red Wings to honor Nicklas Lidstrom's 1,000th point on Saturday

By George Malik

November 13, 2009, 6:48PM

According to DetroitRedWings.com's Lisa Hickock, those of you who plan on heading down to the Joe for "Bucks and Pucks" night should leave a little earlier than one would for a Saturday 7 PM start for a very specific reason:

November 13, DetroitRedWings.com: Fans are encouraged to arrive early for a special pre-game presentation honoring captain Nicklas Lidstrom for his 1,000th point milestone attained on Oct. 15 against the Los Angeles Kings.

Lidstrom will be joined on-ice by his family and NHL senior vice president Jim Gregory.

I went to the BJs-Ducks game last night.

The BJs has absolutely no business being in that game at all. Lot's of turnovers and missed passed and bad passes all around. But the Ducks couldn't put them away or even score more than 2 goals.

Usually the team will come out fired up after that type of loss, but it was a very physical and up and down the ice type of game.

I think if the Wings come out and keep up the pressure, they'll win easily. If they revert back to their bad defensive ways, the Wings might find themselves in a dogfight with a desperate team.

Miller is not close to being done developing. I have watched him a little bit, and here and there he will just make a genius play, or do something impressive going in to the offensive zone. We all know he is awesome defensively, but I believe he will grow tons offensively.

JHo looking good, so no worries there. I'm relieved by that. I was in the wait-and-see camp with him, but one can only wait for so long. Silver lining to Ozzie's flu is that we've gotten to see what Jimmy can do.

Kronner lighting things up. Good to see.

Wings 5: Lids, Kronner, Homer, Raffy, Hank

Ducks 2: Getzlaf, Perry

Just made the prediction because he's playing against his former team.

I really, REALLY dislike the Ducks, moreso than any other team including the Avs. I hate their chosen philosophy of pushing the envelope and playing dirty to try to make points. And I really hate it when they get away with it, which is way too often.

I'm grateful they played last night and lost and I hope we beat the crap out of them in every way possible. Go May. Go Ericsson. Go Kronners. Go Stuart.

Oh yeah. Get some goals too, please.

Predictions:

- Wings squeak out a victory (4-3, 3-2), despite having several 5-on-3 power plays

- Perry kicks one of our players and is given a minor penalty

- Niederfag jumps Datsyuk and Bertuzzi ends him
